Oh my God Phillies, you're killing me. KILLING ME.
Last night marked the Phillies' fifth defeat in a row. Both losses to the Twins were by just one run. ONE.
Todd Zolecki wrote yesterday about Charlie Manuel getting riled up and frustrated when asked about his team's offense, which has sucked royally. Asking questions about Ryan Howard's production didn't make Manuel any friendlier. But never fear. I'm sure the return of the worst hitting Phillie in 15 years will fix everything!
You can't get blood from a stone. This team is what it is. I just wish they were a bit more entertaining in their losses. If they're going to continue to lose games (and believe me, they will), they could at least make them less of a soul crushing slog to watch.
Please, Phillies. Win just one game against the Twins. You're starting Cliff Lee tonight. The Twins are starting Kevin Correia. Please win. In case you've forgotten, that's when you score more runs than the other team in nine innings. Not eight or seven, but nine.
