The Phillies snapped their five game losing streak last night. Let's all breathe a sigh of relief.
And while I really want to be down on them for losing all those games to the Twins and the Brewers, where would that get us? I mean, it would make me feel better, and I'd be speaking the truth, but is that what this is really about?
Oh, it is? Oh. Well, a spoonful of sugar. Last night, Cliff Lee continued to be the stopper and Ben Revere went 4-for-6 (!!!). Of course, the Phillies managed 16 hits, just three runs, but still eked out a win. That is a really, really tough thing to do, but that's the 2013 Phillies. Finding new ways to be mediocre every damn day.
But on to tonight! Kyle Kendrick faces off against Juan Nicasio at Coors Field. I'd really love to see the Phillies score 10 runs some game this series. Of course, that means the Rockies will probably score 11 or 15 or 58 runs that game, so I should be careful what I wish for. Oh so careful.
Discuss the game in the comments below. Blorp.
