Rochester 3, Lehigh Valley 1
Adam Morgan - 4 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 3 GB, 5 FB
Phillippe Aumont - 1 IP, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 K
Freddy Galvis - 1 for 4
Cody Asche - 3 for 4, RBI, K
Leandro Castro - 0 for 4
Cameron Rupp - 1 for 3, R
Tyson Gillies - 0 for 3 (outfield assist)
We can officially welcome back Adam Morgan. After a couple quick starts in the GCL he is back in Lehigh. He was hit with the loss, but didn't pitch terrible. The lineup was silent and didn't really help his cause. This is a huge series with Rochester as they lead the wildcard in which Lehigh is only 2.5 back. They dropped the first game of the 4 game series.
Reading 5, Binghamton 4
Seth Rosin - 5 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 4 K, HR, 7 GB, 2 FB
Zach Collier - 1 for 4, HR, K
Maikel Franco - 2 for 4, R, K
Kelly Dugan - 1 for 4, 2B
Sebastian Valle - 2 for 2, 2 R, 2 HR, 3 RBI
Anthony Hewitt - 2 for 3
This game was actually completed early due to rain. Seth Rosin was hit around, but was able to hang on to win. Zach Collier with his 7th home run on the season and has eclipsed his minor league career high. He is however still hitting below .200 on the season. Sebastian Valle hits 2 home runs to give him 11 on the year. He is 6 away from tying his career high from last year. Like Collier, Valle is struggling, batting a paltry .216/.244/.401.
Jupiter 5, Clearwater 0
Severino Gonzalez - 6 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 3 GB, 4 FB
Matt Tolbert - 0 for 3, BB
Cameron Perkins - 0 for 3, K (outfield assist)
Chris Serritella - 0 for 3
Aaron Altherr - 0 for 3, K
I suppose it was almost pointless to even list the batters from this game considering Jupiter pitchers combined for a no-hitter. Angel Sanchez, Colby Suggs and James Nygren went 9 innings and gave up only 2 walks and struck out 5. Severino Gonzalez with a pretty good outing, but obviously takes the loss. Gonzalez had posted up a clunker in his return to Clearwater, but this was a much better showing.
Rome 10, Lakewood 2
Jeb Stefan - 5 IP, 10 H, 8 R, 2 ER, 2 K, HR, 6 GB, 6 FB
Brian Pointer - 0 for 3, BB, K
Jonathan Roof - 1 for 4, RBI, K (two fielding errors)
Larry Greene - 0 for 3, BB, K
Willie Carmona - 1 for 4
Mitch Walding - 1 for 4, K
Costly Jonathan Roof errors result in 6 unearned runs being scored on Jeb Stefan, who was having an impressive season up until this start. Aside from that, BlueClaw bats were silenced for the most part.
GCL Yankees2 2, GCL Phillies 1
Feliberto Sanchez - 5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 4 GB, 1 FB
JP Crawford - 1 for 4, K
Wilmer Oberto - 1 for 4
Nick Ferdinand - 0 for 4
Cord Sandberg - 1 for 2, 2 BB
Jose Pujols - 0 for 4, 3 K
Jan Hernandez - 0 for 3, 2 K
Despite a bottom of the ninth rally, the GCL Phils would go on to lose. There were no extra base hits for the Phils who drop to 9-17 on the season.
