Join us for TGP/SABR 43 Happy Hour on August 1

A real life gathering of internet people. It's not to be missed!

Do you like baseball? Do you like people who like baseball? Then have I got the opportunity for you!

The Society for American Baseball Research is holding its 43rd annual convention July 31-August 4. To celebrate, The Good Phight is having a happy hour on Thursday, August 1 from 5-7pm (and probably later) at Field House.

Any and all are welcome -- TGP readers and convention attendees alike.

Field House is at 1150 Filbert Street, just a block from the SABR hotel, the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. The kind folks at Field House will be setting up an area for us, so when you come in just ask to be pointed toward The Good Phight. For more info about Field House, check out their website.

The SABR convention is a great time, and the lineup of presentations and panels is superb this year. As the convention is in Philadelphia, many of the research presentations and panels are Phillies/Philadephia centric. There are sessions with Phillies president and CEO David Montgomery, former Inquirer writer (and current ESPN scribe) Jayson Stark, and the endlessly entertaining former player and Phillies TV broadcaster Gary "Sarge" Matthews. And that's just a very, very small sampling of the smorgasbord that SABR 43 has to offer. Head to SABR's website for more info about the convention. There's still time to register!

Hope to see you on Thursday, folks!
