Cody Overbeck delivers a 2 RBI double to put the IronPigs up for good. Asche with another hit, call him up.

Blowout games are fun! Especially when you are on the right side of them. Asche with a 3 run blast in the top of the 6th. Cameron Rupp with a solo blast in the top of the 4th. Adam Morgan appears to slowly being worked back into the swing of things. His walks were high, but he only allowed 1 hit in his 3 innings of work. Asche and Rupp are doing their darnedest to get the call from the big club.

Pawtucket 2, Lehigh Valley 0 (July 28)

"Good" Martin has been out in full force and unfortunately didn't have anything to show for it in this game. He is still showing swing and miss stuff. Walks will probably always be a concern with Martin to some extent. Big leaguers like Gio Gonzalez can get away with it, but I'm not so sure Martin can if he were to get the call-up. Lehigh takes 2 for 3 from Pawtucket this weekend. This brings them to 4.5 games back of the division and wildcard lead.

Reading 7, New Britain, 2 (July 26)

I can't believe Franco struck out again!!! *sigh*...kidding of course. Franco proves me wrong of his downward trend, by giving the ol' one finger salute to Jay. Kelly Dugan with a bomb as well. I would very much like to refer Franco and Dugan as the Bash Brothers, but that will need some more time. Hollands with a much better start than his last outing.

Reading 12, New Britain 3 (July 27)

Seth Rosin pitches a gem, Franco has a 3 hit game and Dugan gets hit by two pitches. These are all reasons I feel good in the morning. Collier and Troy Hanzawa are the only two without hits in the game. These two teams are battling for the worst in the Eastern League. Should be a fun finish.

New Britain 9, Reading 3 (July 28)

We might be seeing the creation of "Good" and "Bad" Biddle. This was two train-wrecks in a row. Franco with another 2 hits. Reading loses, but takes 2 for 3 from New Britain.

Fort Myers 7, Clearwater 3 (July 26)

Nick Hernandez with a pretty awful start. Altherr with a home run, his 10th on the year. This has been a breakout season for Altherr and hopefully just a sneak peak at his potential.

Fort Myers 12, Clearwater 11 (July 27)

Yikes! Tons of hits and lead changes in this one. Both teams combine for 23 hits and 7 errors. Altherr with another 2 hits and a stolen base! Serritella blasts his 10th homer on the season. Clearwater loses this game in the bottom of the 9th after a pop error from Bob Stumpo and fielding error from Brock Stassi allows a run to score.

Clearwater 5, Fort Myers 4 (July 28)

Clearwater salvages the series taking the last of the 4 game set. Severino Gonzalez looks to be making himself the new hot prospect in the Phillies system.

Nunez pitches well enough for the win, his 8th on the season. Art Charles isn't a true prospect and is little older for the league. He is hitting .279 in his last 10 games with 2 HR and 13 RBI. Granted he doesn't walk much and strikes out a ton.

Greenville 4, Lakewood 3 (July 27)

Lakewood loses despite a late rally in the bottom of the 9th that put them only a run away from tying it up. Nic Hanson with one of his best starts on the year. His numbers as a starter lately have been quite impressive.

Lakewood 4, Greenville 3 (July 28)

Lakewood wins the game in the bottom of the 9th, scoring 3 runs. I don't know how I feel about a pitcher named Jeb, but he hasn't been above average lately.

Williamsport had only 5 hits on the day and went 1 for 7 with RISP. Andrew Knapp with his first professional home run of his career. Rios had his 3rd start on the year and was able to go 4 innings, his longest outing on the year.

Whenever the heart of your lineup goes 0 for 16 with 9 strikeouts you aren't going to win very many games. Crosscutters were held to 3 hits all game and only 4 baserunners.

Mahoning Valley 7, Williamsport 6 (July 28)

Williamsport loses in the bottom of the 9th on two errors from Rojas and Pierce. Williamsport loses all 3 games this weekend.

This was an interesting game on paper to say the least. The game went into the top of the 10th inning tied at 4. The GCL Phils would then explode in the inning for 7 hits and 2 walks in the inning, scoring 7 runs. Jesen Therrien, who is a start, comes on in relief to earn the win. Original starter Arteaga with a decent outing.

GCL Phillies 4, GCL Yankees1 3 (July 27)

This game goes 15 innings before a Rodriguez RBI single ends it. A total of 14 pitchers were used in the game combined from both teams. Mark Leiter earns the win after going 3 innings of 2 hit ball while striking out 6 batters. Pretty impressive showing in relief.
