Phillies Minor League Roundup, July 2, 2013

Clearwater with an off day and GCL Phillies with yet another postponement due to rain (they were supposed to play a double header).

USA TODAY Sports

Toledo 5, Lehigh Valley 2

Tom Cochran - 5 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 8 GB, 3 FB
Freddy Galvis - 1 for 3, R, BB
Cesar Hernandez - 1 for 4, R (error, missed catch)
Cody Asche - 2 for 4, RBI
Darin Ruf - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI
Leandro Castro - 0 for 4, K (outfield assist)
Cameron Rupp - 0 for 3
Tyson Gillies - 1 for 3 (2 errors, fielding and throwing)
Mauricio Robles - 1 IP, 1 H, 3 BB, K

A disaster of a 1st inning doomed the Iron Pigs. 3 errors helped bring around 4 Toledo baserunners and Lehigh could never recover. They split the 4 game set with Toledo and still find themselves tied for the Wild Card lead. They have a 5 game set starting tonight against Syracuse (one of the worst teams in the league).

Reading 7, Richmond 5

Austin Wright - 5 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, HR, 7 GB, 3 FB
Zach Collier - 0 for 3, BB, 2 K
Maikel Franco - 1 for 4, 2 R
Sebastian Valle - 1 for 4, RBI, K
Anthony Hewitt - 1 for 4, R, RBI, K
Tyler Knigge - 2 IP, 2 K

Austin Wright with another rough outing. It's been a tough year for him after a pretty darn good 2012 campaign. Luckily the offense bailed him out with a 5 run 6th inning.

Lakewood 1, Delmarva 0

Severino Gonzalez - 6 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 9 K, 5 GB, 2 FB
Larry Greene - 0 for 3, 3 K
Mitch Walding - 0 for 2, BB
Carlos Tocci - 0 for 3, 2 K, CS
Willie Carmona - 1 for 2, HR, BB

Severino was perfect through 6 innings before leaving the game (I'm assuming because of pitch counts). The bullpen closed it out with relative ease. The only run of the game came off of a solo shot from DH Carmona. Lakewood will look to close out the series with a win tonight.

Williamsport 5, State College 2

Jon Prosinski - 4 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 K, 4 GB, 4 FB
Andrew Pullin - 2 for 4, R, RBI
Dylan Cozens - 2 for 4, 2B, HR, 2 RBI
Zach Green - 0 for 4
Gabriel Lino - 0 for 4

Zach Green's bat has gone a bit cold in this series thus far (0 for 9). Cozens showing off some power and Prosinski with a decent start. The Crosscutters will go for the series win tonight. They currently sit a half game back of the division lead in the early season.
