Rochester 5, Lehigh Valley 4
Zach Miner - 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, K, 4 GB, 6 FB
Mauricio Robles - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K
Phillippe Aumont - 0.1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB
Tyson Gillies - 0 for 4, 2 K
Freddy Gavlis - 1 for 4, 3B, picked off
Leandro Castro - 0 for 4, 2 K
Tyler Henson - 2 for 4, 2 HR, 3 RBI, K
Asche leaves and it all falls apart...kidding of course. Zach Miner was cruising, throwing a 1-hitter before he was removed from the game. BJ Rosenberg and Phillippe Aumont combined to give up all 5 runs. The IronPigs held a 5-2 lead in the top of the 9th before Aumont gave up 3 consecutive singles and then walked a batter. He was replaced by Jay Johnson, who then walks two more batters. I'm sure this offense will struggle with the recent promotions of Ruf, Asche and Cesar Hernandez's injury.
Reading 11, Erie 5
Austin Wright - 5 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, HR, 3 GB, 7 FB
Albert Cartwright - 3 for 5, 2 R, RBI
Zach Collier - 1 for 5, R, 2 K (fielding error)
Maikel Franco - 1 for 3, 2 R, RBI, HBP
Kelly Dugan - 0 for 3, RBI, 2 K
Sebastian Valle - 2 for 4, 3B, HR, 5 RBI, K
Anthony Hewitt - 0 for 4, 2 K
Wright wasn't particularly sharp, but the offense had a strong showing in this game. Valle with a 2 RBI triple and a 3-run homer in the game. Zach Collier with his first error on the season and he is also batting .194. He might be out of his element in AA.
Clearwater 5, Palm Beach 2
Hoby Milner - 3 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, K, 3 GB, 4 FB
Jiwan James - 0 for 4, BB, 2 K, SB
Aaron Altherr - 1 for 4
Chris Serritella - 0 for 2, R, RBI, 2 BB, K
Cameron Perkins - 0 for 4, K
Harold Martinez - 3 for 4, 2 R, 2B, RBI (throwing error)
Logan Moore - 3 for 3, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, BB
This game featured a 1 hour and 40 minute rain delay about 3 innings into the game. Both starters were knocked out of the game because of it. Logan Moore with a big game. The light hitting catcher hasn't been very good this year, but he propelled the offense, just a triple short of the cycle.
Lakewood 4, Hagerstown 2
Jon Prosinski - 5 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 4 K, 7 GB, 3 FB
Carlos Tocci - 1 for 5, BB, 2 K
Larry Greene - 0 for 4
Art Charles - 3 for 4, 2B
Mitch Walding - 1 for 4, 2 K
Chace Numata -1 for 3, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, BB, 2 K (passed ball)
Brian Pointer - 1 for 4, 2B, K
Alejandro Villalobos - 4 for 4, R, RBI
Prosinski is really enjoying a good 2013. Between Lakewood and Williamsport he sports a 3.16 ERA and has struck out 24 baters in 31.1 innings of work (and only 4 walks). He is a tall, lanky righty out of Seton Hall University. Larry Greene continues to struggle. Villalobos is 7 for 8 in his last two games with 3 RBI. Chace Numata with a big 2 run blast. Numata also has 21 passed balls on the year. Clearly he will need some more work behind the plate.
Williamsport 1, Brooklyn 0
Drew Anderson - 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K, 8 GB, 4 FB
Gustavo Martinez - 2 for 4, K, SB
Andrew Knapp - 0 for 4, 3 K
Zach Green - 0 for 3, 2 K
Gabriel Lino - 0 for 3, BB, 3 K (passed ball)
Logan Pierce - 2 for 3, R, 2B, BB
Jiandido Tromp - 2 for 4, K
Drew Anderson has been lights out all season. He sports a 4-2 record with 2.47 ERA. His walks are frequent and his strikeouts are a little below average. He is a guy to keep an eye on. Knapp continues to struggle in his last 10 games (.162/.205/.270). The only run scored was in the bottom of the 4th after Sam Dove grounded into a double play after Pierce and Tromp reached base, allowing Pierce to score.
Elniery Garcia - 5 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 K, 7 GB, 4 FB
Herlis Rodriguez - 2 for 4, R, 2B, BB, K
JP Crawford - 0 for 4, R, BB, SB
Wilmer Oberto - 3 for 5, R, RBI
Jan Hernandez - 3 for 5, 2 R, 3B, HR, 3 RBI
Cord Sandberg - 0 for 2, BB (outfield assist)
Jose Pujols - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB, 2 K
Costly errors benefited GCL Phils. Jan Hernandez has slowly been climbing out of the rut he was in. He has been showing a bit more power lately with 5 extra base hits in his last 10 games. Rodriguez and Oberto continue their torrid hitting pace.
