Believe It Orr Not: Phillies at Mets, August 28, 2013

Somehow, we have reached a new low.

Look at me! I can fly!
Look at me! I can fly!

When I emailed my fellow TGP writers this afternoon about Pete Orr playing left field tonight, no one replied to me for 40 minutes. While they were all probably busy with their jobs, I prefer to imagine that they sat motionless at their desks, openmouthed in shock. Or that they kept reloading the email and wondering why it was blank, because just as the indigenous people of the Bahamas couldn't see Christopher Columbus' ship, my colleagues couldn't see the contents of my email. That's how ridiculous this is.

Tonight's outfield has Orr in left, Bernadina in center, and Mayberry in right. Ryne Sandberg should apologize to Cole Hamels for 24 solid hours for putting that outfield behind him.

Yes, we've reached a new low. It's nice that in this season of lows that the Phillies can still surprise us and reach new heights... of lows.
