Fiiiiiiiiiiix it. FIX IT. FIX THIS PROBLEM, CLIFF.
Things are bad. Stupid bad. Jimmy Rollins made the mistake of saying last week that he thought the team had hit rock bottom. That was pretty stupid, since things only got worse from that point. Anytime you say "well, things can't get any worse!" they do. It doesn't just happen in movies. It happens in real life, too.
My lovely sister, who lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia, doesn't pay much attention to baseball, and even SHE knows the Phillies are in trouble. "KYW said they're in a free fall. That seems pretty bad." And then I burst into tears. Angry, angry tears. I've bottled them and I'll be sending them to Ruben Amaro, David Montgomery, and the rest of the Phillies front office. I hope they enjoy them.
I sat through 12 innings at Citizens Bank Park yesterday with Phrozen, and it was pretty soul crushing. This evening, Cliff Lee returns from his neck ouchies to hopefully end this seemingly endless skid. He faces Alex Wood. I'll probably be facing the bottom of a bottle by the end of the night. A good time will be had by all. Or, you know, the opposite of that.
