Watching: Padres at Phillies Game Thread, September 12, 2013

Unwritten rules are stupid.

Rich Schultz

Dear Phillies and Padres:

Baseball is awesome. I love baseball. You know what else I love? Home runs. Most fans love home runs, too. You know why? Because home runs are an awesome feat of strength. You are hitting a tiny, fast-moving ball with a skinny little bat, and you're hitting it really, really, really far.

Home runs are the coolest.

So do me a favor. When you hit one, do whatever you want. Do backflips around the bases. Raise your powerful fists over your head and pump them like the boss you are. Do the Rockette kick! Or, if you dare, do the most offensive thing anyone could think of -- WATCH your home run as it soars through the air and then do a harmless trot.

Do that last thing and you apparently take your life into your own hands. DO YOU HAVE THE GUTS!?

Love & Kisses,

Liz
