Sort Of Almost Like Real Baseball: Blue Jays at Phillies Spring Training Game Thread, March 4, 2014

Are they trying to trick us with the evening spring training game? We will not be fooled!

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

I should be honest. When I say "sort of almost like real baseball", I mean that this game is at night. That is the only way that this resembles real baseball. Except for the fact that they're playing baseball. I guess it resembles real, regular season baseball in that way, too.

Well, also this game is being played against another team. On a baseball diamond. In a stadium. In front of fans. Ok, so this game resembles real baseball in a lot of ways.

Except, of course, for the one, key, important fact. This game doesn't count. Nothing about this game counts. Not the runs or strikeouts or hits or the score or the outcome. But you know what? It doesn't matter. It's baseball. Open a beer, grab a burger, and pretend with me that it's bright and sunny June, because in June it will be bright and sunny at 6:30pm.

Discuss your preferred method of time travel in the comments below, because I'm done with March and I need a way to get to spring and real baseball. And also the game. You can discuss the game in the comments below, too.
