Well, Cody Asche is back. I hope he has ear plugs.
The young third baseman will probably hear it from the fans this afternoon when the Phillies wrap up their two-game series with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of the American Baseball League Gosh Why Is Their Team Name So Long. But thankfully, the Phillies did the right thing.
Of course, what choice did they have? Reid Brignac? Cesar Hernandez? No, the Phillies had to come back with Asche today in the hopes he will wipe last night's three-error performance from the recesses of his brain. In fact, the whole crew who started last night will take the field again today, with an off-day scheduled for Thursday.
Taking the mound for the Phils will be A.J. Burnett, who is 2-2 on the season with a 2.90 ERA in eight starts. He'll be opposed by Garrett Richards, who is 3-0 with a 2.80 ERA for the Halos.
The Phillies will be looking to improve upon their brutal interleague record today. They are 1-7 against the AL, having lost seven in a row after beating the Rangers on Opening Day. It's not a new problem.
It will be interesting to see the crowd reaction to Mike Trout today. Apparently, the Phils front office were surprised by fan reaction to him last night.
The #Phillies were absolutely stunned at reaction that #Angels Mike Trout received last night, receiving louder ovations than their own guys

Of course, considering Trout is the undisputed best player in baseball and we'll likely only get to see him once every other presidential election (maybe less), Phils fans are getting in their cheers while they can.
