Lehigh Valley 8, Scranton/WB 4
David Buchanan - 5 IP, 9 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 4 GB, 4 FB, WP
Ethan Martin - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K
Seth Rosin - 1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, HR
Ken Giles - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Cesar Jimenez - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K
Tyson Gillies - 1 for 4, 2 R, BB, K
Tyler Henson - 1 for 4, R, 3B, RBI, BB, 2 K, SB
Maikel Franco - 2 for 5, R, 2 2B, 3 RBI, K
Darin Ruf - 1 for 4, 2 K, SB
Buchanan pitches well after not having pitched for 10 days. He did give up 9 hits, but minimized the damage. The bullpen was once again solid, save for Rosin who has given up 7 earned runs in his last 3 appearances (3 IP). Franco's power starting to show up again? He hit doubles 9 and 10 on the season. Tyler Henson steals his 10th base and hits his 2nd triple. Darin Ruf steals a base? That pitcher/catcher duo should feel all sorts of shame.
Reading 3, New Hampshire 2
Perci Garner - 6.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 6 BB, 6 K, HR, 9 GB, 3 FB, WP
Carlos Alonso - 2 for 4, 2 R, 2B, HR, 2 RBI
Albert Cartwright - 1 for 4, RBI, SB
Cam Perkins - 0 for 2, 2 BB (outfield assist, 2B)
Aaron Altherr - 0 for 4, 2 K
Zach Collier - 1 for 4, K, CS, picked off
Who are you Perci Garner? You only throw 55 of your 112 pitches for strikes, walk 6 batters, but somehow still keep missing bats. The 25 year old enters a make or break season more or less. If the organization wasn't so desolate in starting pitching, I would have already converted him to a reliever. Carlos Alonso with a big game and has done really well overall this season. He has a nice .291/.371/.410 slash line with 14 walks, 3 stolen bases and 9 extra base hits. His solo HR in the 8th would be the eventual game winner.
Jupiter 6, Clearwater 5 (11 innings)
Brody Colvin - 3.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, K, 8 GB, 2 FB
Jeb Stefan - 4.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 5 K
Angelo Mora - 1 for 5, 2 RBI, BB, K, CS (fielding error)
Peter Lavin - 0 for 4, BB (fielding error)
KC Serna - 1 for 3, R, BB, K, HBP
Andrew Knapp - 2 for 5, R, 2 RBI, 2 K
Brian Pointer - 1 for 5, RBI, K
I can just see Ruben Amaro Jr. now, loading his shot gun, crying. He is going to have to put Brody Colvin down sooner or later. Despite the disaster that is former baby ace, the Threshers had a 5-4 lead going into the 9th. Jordan Guth would blow the lead via an RBI single after giving up a leadoff triple. The loss would come in the top of the 11th when reliever Lee Ridenhour would allow a leadoff walk come around to eventually score. Knapp collects two more hits!
Delmarva 2, Lakewood 1
Ranfi Casimiro - 6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 K, HR, 8 GB, 4 FB
Julio Reyes - 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 K
JP Crawford - 0 for 3, K
Carlos Tocci - 0 for 4
Willians Astudillo - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB, CS (fielding error)
Dylan Cozens - 2 for 4, RBI, K
Mitch Walding - 0 for 4, 4 K
Samuel Hiciano - 0 for 3, 3 K
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 3
Jan Hernandez - 0 for 3, K
Deivi Grullon - 0 for 3, K
Casimiro remembered how to pitch! Not only did he only give up 1 run, but he didn't walk anyone! That might be the only positive to come out of this game. JP Crawford's 13 game hitting streak comes to an end. Astudillo isn't a first baseman, Mitch Walding with a golden sombrero and Carl Yastrzemski's grandson hit a homer run. Julio Reyes takes the loss after giving up a leadoff single and then allowing an walkoff double to end the game in the bottom of the 9th.
