Toledo 9, Lehigh Valley 4

Sean O'Sullivan - 4 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 6 ER, BB, 4 K, HR, 4 GB 4 FB
Kyle Simon - 1.1 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, K (throwing error)
Phillippe Aumont - 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K
Jeremy Horst - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Seth Rosin - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R
Tyson Gillies - 2 for 5
Tyler Henson - 1 for 5, R, 2B, K
Maikel Franco - 1 for 4
Jim Murphy - 2 for 3, R, RBI (fielding error)
Cameron Rupp - 1 for 4, K

After 3 consecutive quality starts, Sean O'Sullivan finally reverted back to Sean O'Sullivan. Kyle Simon was not much better in relief. Since being called up to Lehigh, Simon has given up 15 earned runs, 19 hits and 10 walks in 14.1 innings. Despite the offense out-hitting Toledo 12-11, they fail to capitalize in key situations. Toledo also had a field day on the basepaths, stealing 4 bases. Not sure if they were testing a hobbled Rupp or not.

New Hampshire 3, Reading 1

Severino Gonzalez - 7.1 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 5 BB, 3 K, HR, 8 GB, 7 FB
Hector Neris - 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Albert Cartwright - 1 for 4, K
Brock Stassi - 0 for 3, R, BB, 2 K, SB
Cam Perkins - 2 for 4, 2B, RBI
Sebastian Valle - 0 for 3
Aaron Altherr - 0 for 3

Just when you think Severino is getting back on track he does something that worries you. He pitches well enough, throwing 64 of his 98 pitches for strikes. Too bad those balls he did throw resulted in a career high 5 walks. The offense didn't do much to help his cause, being held to 3 hits and a walk. Positives? Cam "The Man" Perkins. Even though Reading drops the game, they take the series 4-1. Not too shabby Fightin's. They sit at #2 in the division standings; 5 games behind Portland.

St. Lucie 5, Clearwater 3

Colin Kleven - 5.2 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 5 ER, BB, 5 K, 8 GB, 2 FB (throwing error)
Roman Quinn - 1 for 5, 3 K
KC Serna - 0 for 4
Peter Lavin - 2 for 4, R (outfield assist, 3B)
Art Charles - 1 for 4, R, 2B, 2 K
Gabriel Lino - 2 for 3, 2 R, 2B, RBI, HBP
Brian Pointer - 1 for 4, RBI, K

Colin Kleven gets hit around in the game and takes the loss. This broke up a string of 3 straight quality starts. He has however (in his last two games anyway) found the strikeout pitch (13 Ks in 12.2 IP). Hopefully that continues. Roman Quinn returns to the lineup after the day off on Wednesday, but struggles. Peter Lavin doing what Lavin does, throwing guys out on the basepaths and collecting hits. Lino with a fantastic game himself. Clearwater has dropped the first 3 games of the 4 game set with St. Lucie. They try and stop the bleeding tonight in the series finale.

Lakewood 10, West Virginia 9

Mark Leiter - 4 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, HR, 4 GB, 4 FB, WP
Yacksel Rios - 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 5 K, 2 GB, 0 FB
Cody Forsythe - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, K
Carlos Tocci - 1 for 5, R, RBI
Andrew Pullin - 2 for 5, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI (fielding error)
JP Crawford - 1 for 3, 2 R, 2B, RBI, 2 BB, K
Willians Astudillo - 1 for 5, R
Dylan Cozens - 1 for 4, 2 R, BB, 2 K
Samuel Hiciano - 1 for 4, HR, 2 RBI, K
Mitch Walding - 0 for 3, RBI, 3 K
Deivi Grullon - 2 for 4, R, RBI (throwing error)

Mark Leiter's struggles continue. He seems to have hit a wall in Lakewood. Not what you want to see obviously. He isn't true top prospect, but the more he struggles at the lower levels, the less that #5 starter upside comes to fruition. The bullpen held it together for the most part. A 3 run gaff by Deivi Francisco put on a scare, but Forsythe was able to bail him out in the bottom of the 9th. Andrew Pullin with his 5th home run on the season (also his 10 error, but we aren't allowed to say bad things about prospects). JP Crawford continues his torrid hitting and walking pace. Hiciano also had a dinger (his 4th) and Mitch Walding remains in an epic slump (.118/.184/.147 16 K's in his last 10 games). Lakewood takes game 1 of the 4 game set, which concludes on Sunday.
