Lehigh Valley 8, Charlotte 6

Brad Lincoln - 4 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 3 GB, 2 FB
Phillippe Aumont - 2 IP, 2 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, HR
Jeremy Horst - 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB
Cesar Jimenez - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K
Tyler Henson - 2 for 4, 2 R, RBI, BB, K, SB (outfield assist, 1B)
Maikel Franco - 2 for 4, 2 R, BB
Reid Brignac - 2 for 5, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 2 K (fielding error)
Jim Murphy - 2 for 3, HBP
Tyson Gillies - 2 for 3, 2 R, 2B, K, HBP

MILB had David Buchanan as the probable starter in this one, but looks like he was a late scratch. Instead we got Brad Lincoln getting the "bullpen game" start and it wasn't particularly good. He continues to strike guys out, but lets up way too many walks and hits. The guy obviously still has some talent, but I don't know if he will ever live up to the high draft pick expectations. Aumont with the usual Aumont-line. Another obviously talented player, but nothing is repeatable for him and half the time he doesn't know where the ball is going. How soon for WIP callers and Angelo Cataldi start calling for Tyler Henson? Admittedly, the guy is on fire right now. Franco continues to dig himself out of that hole. Two hits AND a walk AND no strikeouts. The power should start working its way back as he continues to make contact again. With the recent news of Freddy Galvis' demotion, it's likely we see Reid Brignac called up. He is the most deserving at this point. Lehigh had a 8-2 lead after the 4th inning and never looked back in this one. It should also be noted that Charlotte is not a good team.

Trenton 5, Reading 3

Perci Garner - 4 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, HR, 3 GB, 4 FB
Hector Neris - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K
Ken Giles - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
Cam Perkins - 1 for 4, K
Aaron Altherr - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB
Brock Stassi - 1 for 2, R, 2B, RBI, 2 BB
Tommy Joseph - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI
Zach Collier - 1 for 4, R, 2 K
Edgar Duran - 1 for 4, 3B, RBI

This was Garner's first real bad start of the season. Prior to this game, hitters were batting under .200 against him. He still showed some good stuff last night despite the hits and free passes. Garner might be showing #5 starter upside or probably better long-relief potential for the big club. Giles with another solid performance. The offense falls flat, but still saw solid performances of the middle of the lineup. Altherr is starting to heat up in his last 10 games. Would like to see him cut down on the strikeouts, but that just may be what he is going to be at this point. I'm wondering if he could be a starting CF for the Phillies in the future. One could dream he could develop into a Dexter Fowler type player.

Dunedin 4, Clearwater 0

Jon Prosinski - 7 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 4 K, 3 HR, 10 GB, 4 FB
Peter Lavin - 1 for 3, BB
Darin Ruf - 0 for 3, BB, K
Harold Martinez - 1 for 4, K
KC Serna - 1 for 4, K
Andrew Knapp - 0 for 3, HBP
Brian Pointer - 0 for 2, BB, K

Jon Prosinski is a guy that is going to give up a lot of hits. I don't see that changing for the 23 year old righty. It's encouraging to see despite this hits, he was able to induce a lot of ground ball outs. I think Prosinski ultimately flames out when he hits AA. Nothing to note of the offense as they were held to 3 hits and 3 walks over the game. Darin Ruf on rehab assignment. I hope he starts hitting and warrants a call up to the Phillies. That team just needs...something. Toronto and it's affiliates have pretty much bench this organization over the barrel over the past week.

Kannapolis 9, Lakewood 2

Ranfi Casimiro - 4.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, 6 GB, 5 FB, WP
Cody Forsythe - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
JP Crawford - 1 for 4, R, 2B, BB, K (throwing error)
Carlos Tocci - 0 for 5, RBI, K
Dylan Cozens - 1 for 4, BB, K, SB
Willians Astudillo - 1 for 4, RBI
Mitch Walding - 1 for 3, BB
Andrew Pullin - 0 for 4, K
Samuel Hiciano - 1 for 4, K (fielding error)
Wilmer Oberto - 0 for 3, BB, K
Deivi Grullon - 0 for 2, R, BB

Casimiro hasn't had anything close to a "good" start this season (6 starts). He has given up 23 earned runs in 24 2/3 IP and sports a 8.39 ERA. Despite being 22, he might be sent back down to Williamsport when their season begins next month. JP Crawford with another extra base hit, walk and (unfortunately) his 7th error. Cozens steals his 5th base on the season. If he could just start working more walks, I could get a little more excited about the kid. This game was a bit of a bust. Lakewood was outhit 14-5 and Kannapolis scored in 6 of the 9 innings played.
