So was this just one of those weird crazy offensive nights? Is Jesse Biddle causing the collective Philadelphia fanbase heart to break? He didn't get help from his defense, but 6 walks? If there was one thing he was doing right, it was that he was limiting his walks the last 3 starts. Biddle had the excuse last season with pertussis last season, but what of his troubles this year? I was hoping for a break out this season. Reading actually outhit NB 14-12 believe it or not. Aaron Altherr's magic turnaround continues, hitting his 4th homer. In his last 23 games (90 AB), he is hitting .289/.333/.433 with 8 extra base hits, 2 stolen bases and 5 walks. He has struck out 47 times overall this season (to 16 walks) across two levels. If this level of production continues, he could finish the season in AAA, with a serious shot at making the club next season. Jiwan James with his first two hits of the season!
Lakewood 10, Hagerstown 2
Mark Leiter - 7.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 7 K, 14 GB, 1 FB
Cody Forsythe - 1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K
JP Crawford - 2 for 4, 2 R, RBI (fielding error)
Carlos Tocci - 1 for 4, R, 3B, BB, K
Dylan Cozens - 0 for 4, K
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 3, 2 R, 2B, BB, K
Andrew Knapp - 2 for 4, R, 2 RBI, K

Mitch Walding - 1 for 4, 2 K
Samuel Hiciano - 2 for 4, R, 2 RBI, 2 K
Jose Mayorga - 1 for 3, 2 R, RBI, K
Mark Leiter hasn't had a start like this since April 26th, when he went 8 innings, allowed 4 hits, no runs and struck out 5. It's been a rough stretch in-between. Leiter really needs to find that consistency if he wants to move up in the organization and be considered a legit prospect. JP Crawford gets out of his funk with a two hit affair. He did pick up his 12th error of the season. Still some more work to do for the 19 year old top prospect. Tocci with 5 XBH in his last 10 games. Impressive for the still slightly built developing CFer. Zach Green is back! He was playing 1st base last night. Now what do they do now? Send a struggling Mitch Walding to Clearwater to move Green back to third? Decisions, decisions.
