Game 69 Open Thread: Phillies at Braves

The Phillies are weird.

Mike Zarrilli

Oh, Phillies.

You guys are such a weird baseball team right now. You won last night on the strength of the things that most baseball teams use to win games: starting pitching, bullpen, and offense. No, the three of those things weren't quite in sync, but you know what? You won the game and that's what matters.

Today's Lineups

PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES ATLANTA BRAVES
Jimmy Rollins - SS Jason Heyward - RF
Carlos Ruiz - C B.J. Upton - CF
Marlon Byrd - RF Freddie Freeman - 1B
Ryan Howard - 1B Justin Upton - LF
Domonic Brown - LF Tommy La Stella - 2B
John Mayberry - CF Chris Johnson - 3B
Reid Brignac - 3B A. Simmons - SS
Cesar Hernandez - 2B Gerald Laird - C
Kyle Kendrick - RHP Ervin Santana - RHP

Kyle Kendrick is starting tonight, and if you notice a distinct lack of despair or sarcasm in my writing, it's because not only has Kendrick been not bad lately, he's got great numbers against the Braves. His career ERA against Atlanta is 3.28 in 21 games (15 starts). And at Turner Field, his ERA drops to 2.45 in 11 games (six starts).

Keep on keeping on, Kyle.
