Noodling around on Kyle Kendrick's Baseball-Reference page, I found a few interesting things.
He has a career 2.90 ERA in 10 games (59 IP) against the St. Louis Cardinals. He has a 3.69 ERA at Busch Stadium over 7 games. And in 2014, his first inning ERA is 8.36.
8.36.
That's a very high number. I think everyone, Kyle included, would like to see that number go down. Perhaps today is the day it will! Positive thinking! Yes, the Phillies lost last night, but they've still won a lot of games lately, and they've played pretty competently. I think everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt.
I mean it. Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. Except Ryne Sandberg.
