Today's Probables: LHV: Greg Smith, REA: Hoby Milner, CLR: Colin Kleven, LWD: Yacksel Rios WIL: David Whitehead

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Lehigh Valley, Syracuse (doubleheader both canceled, due to rain)

Reading, Binghamton (canceled due to rain)

Tampa 9, Clearwater 3

Ethan Stewart - 2.1 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 2 K, 3 GB, 0 FB, WP
Jordan Guth - 2.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 K
Daniel Child - 3 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 K
Lino Martinez - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K
Roman Quinn - 0 for 4, K
JP Crawford- 1 for 3, R, BB
KC Serna - 0 for 2 (fielding error)
Art Charles - 0 for 4, 3 K
Harold Martinez - 1 for 4, RBI, 2 K

Ethan Stewart's inability to throw strikes is kind of amazing. He has a 46:53 K/BB ratio and has given up 89 hits in 81.2 innings. Only the recently departed Brody Colvin could top that over the same period of time. Roman Quinn goes hitless for the second straight game. JP Crawford is the lone Thresher with a good day at the plate, getting on base twice and not striking out. The Threshers were out hit 18-2 and didn't have a hit until the 7th inning.

Greensboro 4, Lakewood 3

Jon Prosinski - 5.2 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, K, 5 GB, 7 FB
Christopher O'Hare - 0.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, K
Matt Hockenberry - 1.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, K
Samuel Hiciano - 1 for 5, R, 2 K
Andrew Pullin - 3 for 3, 2 RBI, BB
Andrew Knapp - 0 for 4
Dylan Cozens - 1 for 4, 2B, 2 K
Zach Green - 2 for 3, BB
Larry Greene - 0 for 4, 2 K
Mitch Walding - 2 for 4, R, 2B
Carlos Tocci - 1 for 3, R, K, SB, HBP
Drew Stankiewicz - 0 for 4, RBI, 2 K

Since being demoted to Lakewood, the 23 year old Prosinski sports an opponent BA of .274 and has given up 40 hits total in 36.1 innings. His inability to get out hitters 2-3 years younger than him is pretty damning. O'Hare actually takes the loss in this one and has yet to throw a clean inning this season (9.1 IP). Andrew Pullin's hot streak continues and is batting .275/.341/.389 on the season. For as bad as he was doing to start the season, I didn't expect this kind of turnaround. Ideally you would like to see a bit more power, but that is probably my only complaint at the plate with Pullin. Another guy playing well right now is Zach Green, though his K-rate is hovering around 30%, which isn't very good. Does anyone know if Tocci is leaning into these pitches? He is one off the leaderboard for most HBP on the season.

Williamsport, Auburn (canceled due to rain)

GCL Pirates 6, GCL Phillies 2

Brandon Leibrandt - 3 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 K, 2 GB, 1 FB, WP
Franklyn Kilome - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB
Gregorio Santos - 3 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, K, HR
Grenny Cumana - 1 for 5, RBI, K
Chase Harris - 2 for 4, 2 SB
Damek Tomscha - 2 for 4, 2 2B, RBI
Jose Pujols - 1 for 3, BB, 2 K
Gustavo Martinez - 1 for 3, R, 2B
Luis Encarnacion - 0 for 3, BB, K

2014 6th rounder Brandon Leibrandt struggles in his 2nd appearance this season after throwing 3 scoreless in his debut. Damek Tomscha remains red hot, too old for the league and with no openings to move up. 2013 top international signee, Luis Encarnacion, continues to move around the field, playing 1B yesterday afternoon.
