Lehigh Valley 3, Durham 0

Brad Lincoln - 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 5 K, 6 GB, 6 FB
BJ Rosenberg - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 K
Ken Giles - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K
Leandro Castro - 1 for 4, RBI, CS
Tyler Henson - 0 for 4, K
Maikel Franco - 1 for 4, 2B, K
Cameron Rupp - 1 for 4, K

Holy cow, Brad Lincoln can pitch! 7 innings, 95 pitches (60 strikes) and an even GB/FB ratio on his way to a win. Call me pessimistic, but given his track record, we will need to see a few more performances like this to believe he might have actually turned a corner. Ken Giles pitches a perfect 9th to seal his 5th save. Good to see him pitch well after his disaster last Thursday. The game was still tied at 0-0 going into the top of the 7th. Ronny Cedeno delivered a 2 run double and Castro added a RBI sac-fly. Lehigh Valley avoids being swept in the finale of the 4 game series.

Bradenton 5, Clearwater 0

Colin Kleven - 5 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 5 ER, BB, 3 K, 6 GB, 3 FB
Ramon Oviedo - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K
Lee Ridenhour - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, K
Roman Quinn - 0 for 4, K
KC Serna - 1 for 4
Peter Lavin - 1 for 2, 2B, 2 BB
Gabriel Lino - 0 for 3, BB, 2 K
Brian Pointer - 0 for 3, BB, K (outfield assist, 3B)
Herlis Rodriguez - 0 for 3, K

Kleven implodes in the 2nd inning and gives up all 5 of his earned runs. Of course none of it really mattered because Thresher hitters only had 3 hits and were 0 for 7 with RISP. Peter Lavin remains the old man stuck in Clearwater, for whatever reason. Herlis Rodriguez sighting! The (soon to be) 20 year old gets bumped up to Clearwater, likely because of the crowded OF situation in Lakewood. Slowly there are more players worth following in Clearwater with Quinn, Lino and now Rodriguez.

Greensboro 10, Lakewood 6

Jon Prosinski - 5.2 IP, 10 H, 5 R, 5 ER, BB, 2 K, 9 GB, 2 FB, WP
JP Crawford - 0 for 4, R, BB, K
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 5, R, K
Dylan Cozens - 2 for 5, 2 R, 2 2B, K
Willians Astudillo - 1 for 3, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 BB
Andrew Knapp - 1 for 3, 2B, RBI, BB, HBP
Samuel Hiciano - 0 for 3, RBI, BB, 2 K, SB
Mitch Walding - 0 for 3, RBI, BB
Carlos Tocci - 0 for 4, 2 K
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 4, passed ball (fielding error)

Really close to just about writing off Prosinski. He shouldn't be this bad as a college player repeating low A ball. JP Crawford's mini-slump continues. In his last 10 games he has a slash line of .212/.333/.303 with only 1 SB. This is why I'd rather see him in Lakewood a bit longer. Interesting to see if he can get out of this funk while making adjustments. Knapp gets sent back down to Lakewood in a curious move. He can only play DH because of the TJS recovery. When Cozens has been hitting lately (which isn't a lot), he is smacking the ball. 6 of his last 8 hits have gone for extra bases. Grullon struggles behind the plate in this one. I like him as a prospect, but he might be better served being sent down Williamsport when their season starts, if not only to give Astudillo more time behind the plate. This game had a decent offensive output, but ended in disappointment. This talented Lakewood squad is 20-35. Not what any of us would have certainly expected.
