Today's Probables: LHV: Brad Lincoln, REA: Severino Gonzalez, LWD: Jon Prosinski

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Rochester 6, Lehigh Valley 5 (June 27, 2014)

Jason Marquis - 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 6 K, 9 GB, 1 FB
Jeremy Horst - 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, K
Ethan Martin - 0.2 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB
Cesar Jimenez - 1.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, K
Grady Sizemore - 1 for 4, R
Tyler Henson - 2 for 4, 2B, RBI
Maikel Franco - 0 for 4, K
Leandro Castro - 1 for 4, RBI, K
Sebastian Valle - 1 for 4, HR, 2 RBI, K

Jason Marquis makes his AAA debut and was sharp. He obviously becomes the Phillies #6 starter going forward. The bullpen blew the game/lead after Marquis exited with a 5-2 lead. Horst has a 7.36 ERA in his last 10 appearances. Franco goes hitless, toying with our fragile emotions. Grady Sizemore also makes his Phillies organization debut.

Scranton/WB 4, Lehigh Valley 3 (June 28, 2014)

Barry Enright - 5.2 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 2 K, HR, 8 GB, 3 FB
Phillippe Aumont - 2.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 5 K
Hector Neris - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
Grady Sizemore - 1 for 4, BB
Tyler Henson - 1 for 4, R, 2B, RBI, BB, 2 K
Maikel Franco - 1 for 4, RBI, 2 K
Leandro Castro - 2 for 4, 2B, RBI
Sebastian Valle - 1 for 4, R, 3 K

Barry Enright has given up 34 earned runs (44 total) in his last 57.2 IP. He has not been very good. Phillippe Aumont on the other hand has been outstanding. In his last 10 appearances with the Iron Pigs, he has a 2.65 ERA with 14 hits, 5 earned runs, only 5 walks and 22 strikeouts through 17 IP. Keep it up!!

Scranton/WB 6, Lehigh Valley 3 (June 29, 2014)

Chris Bootcheck - 4.2 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, HR, 4 GB, 3 FB
Cesar Jimenez - 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K
Ethan Martin - 2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 2 K, HR, WP
Tyler Knigge - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
Grady Sizemore - 2 for 5, K
Tyler Henson - 1 for 5, 2 K
Maikel Franco - 0 for 5
Leandro Castro - 3 for 4, 2 R, 2B, BB
Sebastian Valle - 1 for 4, R, 2 K (passed ball)

I wonder if Lehigh has the worst collection of AAA starters in the International League between Bootcheck, O'Sullivan, Enright and Smith. Ethan Martin since being sent back down to AAA has given up 10 earned runs in 3.1 IP. Uhh, he may still have a "dead arm".Knigge remains a nice little bright spot for righthanded relievers this season. Grady Sizemore is probably ready to join the Phillies if/when they decide to jettison an outfielder or two. That Ben Revere is sure picking a great time to start hitting again, huh? *wink wink, nudge nudge*

Portland 12, Reading 2 (June 27, 2014)

Perci Garner - 3.1 IP, 4 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 8 BB, 2 K, 3 GB, 3 FB (pickoff error)
Kyle Simon - 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 2 K
Seth Rosin - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R
Carlos Alonso - 1 for 4, BB
Kelly Dugan - 0 for 5, 3 K
Aaron Altherr - 0 for 4, 3 K (fielding and throwing error)
Brock Stassi - 2 for 3, 2B, HR

I think Perci might have some control issues, eh? He has issued 44 walks in his last 48.1 IP. That is just incredible if you think about it. Ryan O'Sullivan, Simon and Nefi Ogando would combine to give up the other 6 runs. Kelly Dugan with a not so triumphant return from a minor injury. Aaron Altherr's day could be described as a trainwreck.

Portland 4, Reading 3 (June 28, 2014)

Adam Loewen - 7.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, 4 K, 3 HR, 8 GB, 10 FB
Seth Rosin - 1.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, K, HR, WP
Carlos Alonso - 1 for 3, R, BB, SB
Peter Lavin - 2 for 4, R, 3B, RBI
Kelly Dugan - 1 for 4, RBI, 2 K
Aaron Altherr - 1 for 3, HR, HBP (outfield assist, 2B)
Brock Stassi - 2 for 4

Adam Loewen makes 3 mistakes, all going over the outfield fence. He left the game with a lead nonetheless. Seth Rosin gives up the winning run in the top of the 9th. Peter Lavin returns to the lineup and continues to produce. He isn't walking nearly as often he did at Clearwater, but he is still hitting. Aaron Altherr follows up his disaster yesterday with a solid day at the plate and on the field. He hits his 6th homer.

Portland 13, Reading 9 (June 29, 2014)

Ryan Demmin - 3 IP, 7 H, 10 R, 10 ER, 3 BB, K, HR, 5 GB, 3 FB
Colton Murray - 1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 2 K
Mike Nesseth - 3 IP, 2 H, 1 R ,1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
Carlos Alonso - 1 for 4, R, 2B, BB
Peter Lavin - 0 for 4, R, BB (outfield assist, 2B)
Kelly Dugan - 2 for 4, 4 R, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 2 BB, HBP
Jake Fox - 2 for 5, 2 HR, 5 RBI, K
Aaron Altherr - 1 for 5, 2B
Brock Stassi - 0 for 4, K

It wasn't a great day to be a Reading pitcher. However, it was a great day to be a Reading hitter. Huge day from Kelly Dugan who scores 4 runs and blasting home runs 2 and 3 on the season.

Brevard County 8, Clearwater 4 (June 27, 2014)

Jeb Stefan - 5 IP, 11 H, 6 R, 6 ER, BB, K, 2 HR, 4 GB, 6 FB
Roman Quinn - 2 for 4, 2 R, 2B, BB, SB
JP Crawford - 2 for 4, HR, 2 RBI
KC Serna - 0 for 4, RBI, K
Harold Martinez - 1 for 4
Gabriel Lino - 1 for 3, BB, K (missed catch error)
Brian Pointer - 0 for 3, BB, K, CS

Things were looking good for Stefan his last few starts, but that obviously wasn't the case on Friday. Roman Quinn and Crawford making me smile with their top of the lineup performances. JP smashes his 1st HR as a Thresher and Quinn takes his 8th stolen base.

Brevard County 6, Clearwater 4 (June 28, 2014, 12 innings)

Mark Leiter - 6 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 6 K, 5 GB, 5 FB
Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez - 1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, K
Roman Quinn - 0 for 5, BB, 2 K (fielding error)
JP Crawford - 2 for 5, HR, BB, 2 K, CS (throwing error)
KC Serna - 3 for 6, R, SB
Art Charles - 2 for 4, 2 HR, BB
Harold Martinez - 0 for 5, 2 K
Brian Pointer - 2 for 5, 2 K, SB (outfield assist, 3B)

Mark Leiter gets blasted in his last Lakewood start, gets promoted and throws a pretty decent game in his Thresher debut. MAG has been scary good since returning. Not that he has been spectacular, he just hasn't been the disaster we saw in May. JP Crawford with a mixed day. He commits his 5th error and was caught stealing for the first time (two things he still really needs to improve on). The defense I'm confident will shape up, but his timing and jumps will surely need a bigger improvement. But hey, he did hit his 2nd homer in as many days. You can't really be more excited for this kid.

Brevard County 5, Clearwater 3 (June 29, 2014)

Miguel Nunez - 4.2 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 4 K, 1 GB, 5 FB, WP
Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, K
Roman Quinn - 1 for 3, BB, K (outfield assist, home)
JP Crawford - 0 for 4
KC Serna - 0 for 4, K
Brian Pointer - 3 for 4, 2 R, 2B, HR, K
Gabriel Lino - 1 for 3, RBI, BB, K, picked off

Miguel Nunez takes the loss and has struggled since settling back into the starter role. The large righthander has given up 85 hits and 47 earned runs in 68 innings. Is Brian Pointer putting it altogether, or just teasing us? He hits his 5th homer and now has a very modest .249/.331/.385. That might not seem like much, but Pointer at one point a few weeks ago was batting under .200.

West Virginia 6, Lakewood 2 (June 27, 2014)

Ranfi Casimiro - 4.2 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 7 BB, 3 K, HR, 7 GB, 2 FB
Scott Harris - 2.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K, 1 GB, 5 FB
Samuel Hiciano - 0 for 4
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 3, R, BB
Andrew Knapp - 1 for 4, HR, 2 RBI, K
Dylan Cozens - 1 for 4, 2 K (fielding error)
Zach Green - 1 for 4, K
Willians Astudillo - 1 for 2, BB, HBP
Larry Greene - 0 for 3, BB, 2 K, picked off
Mitch Walding - 0 for 4, K

Ranfi's bad year just continues, but to be fair his 2013 wasn't really any better. Andrew Knapp crushes his 2nd HR of the season while putting in 9 innings behind the plate.

West Virginia 4, Lakewood 3 (June 28, 2014)

Tyler Viza - 5.1 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 9 GB, 4 FB
Will Morris - 1.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 K
Carlos Tocci - 0 for 3
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 4, K
Andrew Knapp - 1 for 4, K
Dylan Cozens - 2 for 3, 2 R, HR, HBP
Zach Green - 1 for 4, R, SB (fielding error)
Mitch Walding - 0 for 4, K
Samuel Hiciano - 0 for 4
Jose Mayorga - 0 for 3, RBI
Drew Stankiewicz - 1 for 3 (fielding error)

Only 5 of Tyler Viza's 15 starts have been quality starts. Dylan Cozens hits his 9th homer of the season, but is still surprisingly 7 off the league lead.

Lakewood 10, West Virginia 5 (June 29, 2014)

Julio Reyes - 1.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, K, 1 GB, 2 FB, 2 WP
Matt Hockenberry - 2.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, K
Jesen Therrien - 4 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
Carlos Tocci - 2 for 5, R
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 4, 2 R, RBI, BB
Andrew Knapp - 1 for 4, R, RBI, K
Dylan Cozens - 0 for 5, 4 K
Zach Green - 3 for 5, 2 HR, 4 RBI
Mitch Walding - 1 for 3, RBI, 2 BB
Samuel Hiciano - 0 for 3, R, RBI, BB (fielding error)
Willians Astudillo - 2 for 5, HR, 2 RBI
Drew Stankiewicz - 1 for 4, 2 R, RBI

The bullpen helps relieve Reyes, who despite this outing, has been having a good year. Andrew Pullin extends his hitting streak to 12 and his average is now up to .274. Zach Green has been a revelation since returning from XST as he hits home runs 2 and 3 of the season. Willians Astudillo hits his 3rd.

State College 5, Williamsport 2 (June 27, 2014)

Feliberto Sanchez - 4.2 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, K, 6 GB, 4 FB, WP
Cord Sandberg - 0 for 4 (outfield assist, home)
Jiandido Tromp - 0 for 4, R, K, SB
Aaron Brown - 1 for 4, 2 K
Wilmer Oberto - 2 for 4, RBI (fielding error)
Jan Hernandez - 0 for 3, BB, 2 K
Derek Campbell - 3 for 4, R, 2B
Sean McHugh - 0 for 4, 2 K (passed ball)
Robinson Torres - 1 for 4, K

Feliberto struggles again for the 3rd straight start to begin the season. 2014 20th Rounder, Campbell, has himself a 3 hit day and that was honestly all she wrote for the offense. That Cord Sandberg guy is the biggest bust, ever.

Williamsport 8, State College 4 (June 28, 2014)

Mitch Gueller - 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, 4 GB, 4 FB
Mark Meadors - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K
Calvin Rayburn - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Derek Campbell - 2 for 5, R, RBI, K (fielding error)
Jiandido Tromp - 0 for 4, R, BB, K
Aaron Brown - 2 for 5, 2 R, 2B, K
Rhys Hoskins - 3 for 4, 2B, HR, 5 RBI
Jan Hernandez - 2 for 4, 2 R, HR
Matt Shortall - 2 for 4, HR
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 4
Emmanuel Marrero - 2 for 4, 2B, CS, picked off

Hey Mitch! Please pitch like this all the time. Joking aside, 2 of his 3 starts have been pretty good. The walks are still crazy bad (11 in 13 IP), but hopefully (????) this can be fixed. Rhys Hoskins and Matt Shortall (both 2014 draftees) hit their first professional homeruns.

State College 5, Williamsport 0 (June 29, 2014)

Alejandro Arteaga - 7 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 5 ER, BB, 5 K, 10 GB, 5 FB, WP
Delvi Francisco - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, WP
Cord Sandberg - 0 for 4, 2 K
Derek Campbell - 0 for 4, 2 K
Aaron Brown - 0 for 4, K
Rhys Hoskins - 1 for 3
Matt Shortall - 1 for 3, 2 K
Jan Hernandez - 0 for 3, 2 K
Deivi Grullon - 0 for 3, K (passed ball)
Emmanuel Marrero - 0 for 3, K

Will Anderson of the Spikes absolutely obliterates the Crosscutter lineup, only allowing 3 hits and striking out 10. After a quality start his last time out, Arteaga comes up short in this effort.

GCL Phillies 2, GCL Tigers 1 (June 27, 2014)

Matt Imhof - 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K, 4 GB, 1 FB
Jared Fisher - 2.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R 1 ER, BB, 3 K, 4 GB, 0 FB
Seranthony Dominguez - 2.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, BB, 3 K, 1 GB, 1 FB
Matt Southard - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
Chase Harris - 2 for 4, 2 R, 3B, K
Trey Williams - 0 for 2, RBI, HBP
Jose Pujols - 1 for 2, BB, K
Jesus Posso - 0 for 2, BB
Jake Sweaney - 1 for 3, 2 K

Matt Imhof was sharp in his pro-debut. He should move up the ladder once more space becomes available. Trey Williams delivered the 1-out sac fly game-winning RBI to end the game in the bottom of the 9th.

GCL Tigers 8, GCL Phillies 5 (June 28, 2014)

Yoel Mecias - 3.1 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, K, 3 GB, 3 FB
Christopher Oliver - 1.2 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, WP
Lewis Alezones - 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, K
Franklyn Kilome - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K
Chase Harris - 1 for 4, R, 2B, 2 K, SB
Trey Williams - 0 for 3, RBI, 3 K
Damek Tomscha - 2 for 4 (throwing error)
Luis Encarnacion - 0 for 3, 2 K, HBP (fielding error)
Grenny Cumana - 1 for 4, HR, K (throwing error)

Yoel Mecias has exactly the opposite start from his debut last week. Christopher Oliver makes his pro debut (finally!) and wasn't particularly good. Not shown above he is also hit two batters. The diminutive Cumana, hits his 1st pro home run. I'd love to see the pitcher's face after that one. Damek Tomscha is likely a Walding promotion (or release) from a promotion himself. Also, someone please explain to me why Matt Tolbert continues to stay in this organization, despite being nearly 3 years older than I am and taking up playing time at the rookie level?
