Today's Probables: LHV: Greg Smith, REA: Perci Garner, CLR: Miguel Nunez, LWD: Julio Reyes

Is there a pot a gold for the Phillies among the minor league system?
Is there a pot a gold for the Phillies among the minor league system?

Louisville 6, Lehigh Valley 3

Chris Bootcheck - 7 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, HR, 7 GB, 4 FB
Tyler Knigge - 1.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 K
Leandro Castro - 2 for 4, R, BB
Tyler Henson - 3 for 5, K, SB (throwing error)
Maikel Franco - 1 for 5, 2 RBI
Cameron Rupp - 0 for 4, RBI, 2 K
Tyson Gillies - 0 for 3, R, 2 K, HBP
Cam Perkins - 1 for 4

So much happened in this game. Chris Bootcheck pitched well again, squaring off against former MLBer Chien-Ming Wang. He takes the loss in this one, but has shown to be serviceable thus far. Tyler Knigge shutout streak comes to an unfortunate end in his Lehigh debut. He had thrown 21 consecutive innings without giving up a run in Reading prior to being called up to AAA. Tyler Henson steals his 13th base, but commits his 4th error (playing SS this game). Maikel Franco with two RBI via a single and a force out.  Cam Perkins makes his AAA debut and has himself a sharp groundball single through the 1st and 2nd basemen. Darin Ruf was removed early after suffering an injury from sliding into the wall to make a tough catch. Gillies, who had sat this game out because of an injury, played in Ruf's absence, but also had to be removed in the 7th for re-aggravating said injury.

Reading 5, Harrisburg 1

Hoby Milner - 5 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 6 K, 5 GB, 4 FB
Ryan O'Sullivan - 3 IP, 0 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 K, 2 WP
Kyle Simon - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R
Carlos Alonso - 4 for 5, 2 R, 2 2B, HR, 2 RBI
Brock Stassi - 1 for 4, R, RBI, BB, K
Sebastian Valle - 1 for 4, RBI, K (throwing error)
Aaron Altherr - 1 for 2, 2B, BB, 2 CS, picked off
Peter Lavin - 0 for 3, RBI

What the hell mother nature? Hoby Milner was pitching a no-hitter going into the 6th before a rain delay. He wasn't able to return, but Ryan O'Sullivan kept the combined no-hitter intact. Enter Kyle Simon, who has been all sorts of awful this season, gives up a 2-out single in the bottom of the 9th. Milner was already at 68 pitches, so I'm not sure if he could have made it 9 innings, but damn that would have been nice. Carlos Alonso with a monster game. The 26 year old from University of Delaware is having himself a very good season for Reading.

Bradenton 7, Clearwater 1

Jeb Stefan - 0.2 IP, 6 H, 7 R, 7 ER, BB, 2 K
Daniel Child - 4.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, BB, 4 K, 5 GB, 2 FB
Lino Martinez - 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 K, 4 GB, 3 FB
Roman Quinn - 0 for 3, R, BB, K (throwing error)
KC Serna - 1 for 4, K
Anthony Hewitt - 1 for 4, 3 K
Gabriel Lino - 1 for 4
Justin Parr - 0 for 3, K

Jeb didn't bring it last night. He has had an up and down season and lately hasn't been giving up as many hits. He still walks a ton, but has missed some bats as well (39.2 IP, 39 H, 27 ER, 19 BB, 31 K). He is still holding opponents to a .257 AVG even after this outing. Quinn obviously still needs a bit more time to get back to his old self at the plate. He did commit his 2nd error. Hewitt, after his demotion, strikes out 3 times. I actually feel a little bad for him.

Lakewood 8, Greensboro 4 (Game 1 of doubleheader)

Drew Anderson - 6 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 K, 5 GB, 3 FB, WP
JP Crawford - 1 for 4, 2 R, BB, 2 K, SB
Andrew Pullin - 2 for 4, R, 2 2B, 4 RBI, BB
Dylan Cozens - 0 for 3, R, BB, K
Willians Astudillo - 1 for 4, K
Andrew Knapp - 2 for 4, R, 3B, 3 RBI, 2 K
Mitch Walding - 1 for 4, 2 K
Samuel Hiciano - 1 for 4, RBI, K
Carlos Tocci - 2 for 3, 2 R, 2B, HBP

Drew Anderson might be having the best season of any starter in the Phillies minor league system. Damning praise, sure, but Drew has come up big (43 IP, 43 H, 17 ER, 1 HR, 15 BB, 45 K). JP Crawford picks up his 10th stolen base, but is still struggling a bit at the plate. Andrew Pullin with a great game, now has 24 RBI's (kinda easy hitting behind Crawford though). "Ted" Willians extends his hitting streak to 18 games. He was behind the plate last night. I'm always impressed when Carlos Tocci gets hit by a pitch because of two things: first is he didn't shatter, but second is that I can't imagine how difficult it is to hit him because there is barely anything to hit.

Lakewood, Greensboro (Game 2 of doubleheader, makeup of 4/15 ppd)

This game was postponed due to rain.
