Louisville 10, Lehigh Valley 9
Barry Enright - 2 IP, 8 H, 8 R, 4 ER, 3 K
Hector Neris - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, K
Phillippe Aumont - 2.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 2 K
Jeremy Horst - 0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB
Luis Garcia - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
BJ Rosenberg - 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 K
Tyler Henson - 0 for 3, R, BB, K, HBP
Maikel Franco - 1 for 4, 3 R, HR, 2 RBI, BB
Cam Perkins - 2 for 5, 2B, K
Cameron Rupp - 0 for 2, R, RBI, 3 BB, K
This was just a very weird game. Barry Enright and Steve Susdrof (through errors of course) give Louisville an 8-2 lead after the 2nd inning. Aumont stays in one inning too long and gives up 2 earned runs that wound up being the ones that lost the game. Franco has a decent outing, hitting his 5th HR and working a walk. Cam Perkins just continues to impress and raising my hopes for probably no good reason. He hasn't yet translated that doubles power into HR balls. That might never happen, but if he keeps hitting, who cares right? Luis Garcia seems to be a much different pitcher at AAA than the big club. Greg Smith, the starting pitcher, entered the game as a pinch hitter and launched a 2 run homer to add to the bizarre-ness. Lehigh Valley falls to 30-31.
Harrisburg 8, Reading 7 (12 innings)
Adam Loewen - 5 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 3 K, 6 GB, 3 FB
Austin Wright - 0.2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, K, HR
Kyle Simon - 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Mike Nesseth - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, K
Nefi Ogando - 1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, K
Carlos Alonso - 3 for 6, 2 R, 2B, 2 K
Peter Lavin - 0 for 6, BB, 2 K
Brock Stassi - 0 for 4, 2 R, 2 BB, 3 K
Aaron Altherr - 3 for 5, 2B, 2 RBI, BB
Logan Moore - 3 for 6, R, 2B, RBI, 2 K
Edgar Duran - 2 for 5, R, RBI, HBP (fielding error)
Reading held a 5-2 lead going into the bottom of the 9th. Nefi Ogando would allow 3 runs to score to tie the game. The Fightins would then go up 7-5 in the top of the 12th courtesy of Anthony Phillips and Albert Cartwright RBI singles. Would that seal it? Of course you already know it didn't. Jay Johnson would give up 3 runs in the bottom of the 12th to lose the game. All 3 runs were scored on a 2-out 3-run home run. Alonso and Altherr with great days at the plate. Peter Lavin goes hitless and there was a brief Logan Moore sighting this game.
Palm Beach 9, Clearwater 2
Miguel Nunez - 4.1 IP, 7 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 4 BB, 2 K, 5 GB, 2 FB
Roman Quinn - 3 for 5, RBI, K
KC Serna - 1 for 4 (throwing error)
Anthony Hewitt - 0 for 4, 2 K
Brian Pointer - 0 for 2, R, 2 BB, K
Really not much to say about this game. Nunez's undoing was a 4-run 2nd and a 5-run 5th. Clearwater goes 2 for 10 with RISP. Roman Quinn with his first multi-hit game since 5/20, which was his 2nd game back from injury. Anthony Hewitt, since being demoted to Clearwater, has gone 1 for 12 with 8 K's.
Delmarva 4, Lakewood 0
Tyler Viza - 4 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 4 GB, 2 FB, WP
Carlos Tocci - 1 for 4, 2B
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 4, K
Dylan Cozens - 1 for 4, 2B, 2 K
Willians Astudillo - 1 for 4
Andrew Knapp - 0 for 4, 2 K
Samuel Hiciano - 0 for 3, BB, K
Mitch Walding - 0 for 3, 3 K
Deivi Grullon - 0 for 3
Tyler Viza is struggling big time. He needed 98 pitches to get through 4 innings of work. If there is any positive on his season, is he is limiting his walks, but he has still given up 74 hits in 60 innings. Blue Claws only muster up 5 hits and go 0-7 with RISP. JP Crawford looks to have gotten a breather in this one. Dylan Cozens remains on a "hot" streak with a .257/.333/.400 line through his last 10 games. Astudillo hitting streak at 2 games and Walding with the golden sombrero.
