The Phillies can best their current season record of five straight wins tonight with a victory against the Nationals. They can do it! Six straight wins is nothing to sneeze at. When these Phillies have everything running on all cylinders -- starting pitching, relief pitching, defense, and offense -- they can play some great baseball.
It's shaping up to be A Game To Watch, with Cole Hamels and Stephen Strasburg facing off at Citizens Bank Park tonight. Hamels has a 2.87 ERA and is putting together a fabulous season, despite his late start due to injury, and despite his teammates' utter inability score runs when he's on the mound.
It'll be a tall order for the Phillies offense, as Stephen Strasburg has been nothing short of phenomenal against the Phillies. He has a 2.32 ERA against the Phils at both Nationals Park and at Citizens Bank Park. But at CBP it's even worse, because Strasburg is even better. In three games and 16 1/3 innings, he has an ERA of 0.55. That's... really low. That's insanely, stupidly low.
Good luck, Phillies. I know you can do it. Discuss the game in the comments below.
