Game 101 Open Thread: Giants at Phillies

A Howard-less lineup, you say?

Drew Hallowell

The Phillies played another long 14-inning game last night, and they sucked their way into yet another three-game losing streak. Tonight, the only thing I want is for this game to take just nine innings and no more. I don't even need a win. I just want the game to be a normal length of time.

Ok, so before you see tonight's lineup, you need to prepare yourself. Are you prepared? For anything? Because here's the lineup.

Today's Lineups

Hunter Pence - RF Ben Revere - CF
Ehire Adrianza - 2B Jimmy Rollins - SS
Buster Posey - C Chase Utley - 2B
Pablo Sandoval - 3B Marlon Byrd - RF
Mike Morse - LF Carlos Ruiz - C
Adam Duvall - 1B Domonic Brown - LF
Tyler Colvin - CF Darin Ruf - 1B
Brandon Crawford - SS Andres Blanco - 3B
Madison Bumgarner - LHP A.J. Burnett - RHP

Ryan Howard is not in that lineup.

I told you to be prepared for anything, AND THAT IS SURELY ANYTHING.

This day off could mean so many things, each of them morezzzzzzzzz oh I'm sorry I fell asleep for a second there. You know why? Ryan Howard's not going anywhere. OK, wait a second, I take that back. You know where he's going? The bench. That's as far as he's getting. If the Phillies do end up playing him less, then glory be, they finally stumbled into a good idea. But nothing is going to fool me into believing that Ryan Howard is going anywhere.

But hey, Carlos Ruiz is back! That's good news!

Sigh. Discuss the game in the comments below.
