Wow, everybody's getting GOOD AND HYPER about this. Before we speculate on whether there's too much hype or not, or whether we should just regard Taney's starting pitcher Mo'ne Davis as a good pitcher, a good kid, a girl, or some combination of those things, let's at least acknowledge that there are other players on this team too, it's been a wonderful run, and sit back and enjoy the game tonight in Williamsport, broadcast on ESPN2 starting at 7:30 p.m. EDT. Tonight's winner goes on to play for the United States Championship, so for all intents, this one's to get into the Final Four.
The radar's clear now, but it could be showery during the game. As you'd expect at this point deep into the tournament, Mountain Ridge, from Las Vegas is no joke. Ought to be a good game, and given the double-elimination format, might not be the last time these two match up.
As for the Phillies, whose horrid play in 2014 is largely responsible for this tremendous groundswell of dislocated and frustrated Philadelphia-area baseball fans/Taney supporters hungry for a team that both wins and has a spark of joie de vivre in them, they are done playing for the day (and they even won, thanks to a Taney t-shirt hanging in their dugout). Even better: No game tomorrow!
So: Woo Taney Dragons! Let's go Philly's (own)! Discuss the game below.
