I know I've been overly critical of Brad Lincoln, but he has just been awful this year and he isn't even ending it on any high note. In his last 10 starts (53.1 IP) he has a 6.58 ERA and opponents have a .385 OBP against him. Sure the strikeout totals are decent, but that only goes so far. MAG is just begging for that September call-up. With all the buzz right now with Castillo and Tomas, lets not forget about our own Cuban import. Things didn't look great the beginning of the season for MAG when he couldn't throw strikes and was obviously not ready to pitch. He's now succeeded at both AA and AAA and has a 10 game scoreless streak. That Franco guy knows that WIP loves dingers and keeps spoon feeding them at the wrong time. He has 4 homeruns in his last 9 games.

Reading outhits Portland 7-6, but still lose. Severino Gonzalez with the quality start and adds his 13th loss of the season. That 13th loss ties him for 3rd most in the organization with Alejandro Arteaga, only behind AJ Burnett (14) and Tyler Viza (16). Peter Lavin delivers the lone extra base hit in the game for the Fightin's and Jake Fox is the only batter with a multi-hit game. I might have missed this, but did Kelly Dugan get hurt again? He hasn't played since this past Saturday. #EverySimpsonsEver is clouding my brain.

Brandon Leibrandt - 5 IP, 11 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 K, 6 GB, 3 FB

Jose Pujols - 0 for 4, 4 K
Chase Harris - 2 for 4, CS, picked off
Sean McHugh - 1 for 4
Emmanuel Marrero - 0 for 3, K
This was Leibrandt's first truly bad outing since a June 25th start in which he only went 3 innings and gave up 5 runs on 9 hits. Edubray Ramos capped off the game with 3 scoreless innings. He has given up just 3 earned runs in 17.2 innings this year with 17 strikeouts and only 1 walk. I'd say that is pretty impressive. It's nice to have relievers who don't walk batters *coughGarnerWrightAumontMartinStewart*. Jose Pujols is 4 for 36 in Williamsport with 13 strikeouts. He seems to be in a little over his head. In his last 23 games (74 at bats), Rhys Hoskins is slashing .311/.393/.486 with 3 homers, 9 walks and 12 strikeouts. Hoskins should pencil into the Lakewood lineup for 2015.
