Game 132 Open Thread: Nationals at Phillies

Do you like aardvarks? Then this is the game thread for you!

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Well huh. The Phillies won last night. Isn't that something! I know that schmenkman has pointed out that the Phillies have been a .500 team since July-ish, but it still feels like an unexpected surprise when they win. If you've watched the Phillies, you know why it feels surprising. Because almost never look like a team that should win!

And now it's time for the lineup. Prepare yourselves.

Today's Lineups

WASHINGTON NATIONALS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Denard Span - CF Ben Revere - CF
Asdrubal Cabrera - 2B Jimmy Rollins - SS
Anthony Rendon - 3B Carlos Ruiz - C
Jayson Werth - RF Marlon Byrd - RF
Ian Desmond - SS Darin Ruf - 1B
Scott Hairston - LF Grady Sizemore - LF
Wilson Ramos - C Freddy Galvis - 2B
Kevin Frandsen - 1B Andres Blanco - 3B
Gio Gonzalez - LHP Cole Hamels - LHP

I'm sorry, I should have said "lineup", because that's what it is. It's a "lineup". Honestly, did Cole Hamels run over Ryne Sandberg's dog? Did he ding his car? What could Hamels have done to Sandberg to make him do that? I have no problem with Sandberg resting his everyday players, of course, especially since I don't think he does it often enough. But when your actual ACE PITCHER is on the mound, maybe you shouldn't rest A BUNCH OF THEM.

GOOD GOD.

Ok, so as you can tell, we've reached the point in the season where we all need a bit of cheering up. So please join me here every day for a new Youtube clip, guaranteed to make you smile!
