Game 133 Open Thread: Nationals at Phillies

The Phillies have been doing a lot of winning lately. Thank goodness Kyle Kendrick is here to put a stop to it.

Lonely, so lonely.
Lonely, so lonely.
Scott Cunningham

Tonight, the Nationals will do their best to avoid being swept by the juggernaut that is the Philadelphia Phillies. JUGGERNAUT. They've gone 6-2 on this homestand, and they're 12-11 in the month of August.

They can't keep up this pace. We all know they're not this good. (In this case, "this good" means "a .500 team".) Hopefully they'll remember that, before it's too late for them to lose a whole lot and get a fabulous draft pick. Yeah, I said it. After years of resisting the tank, I now fully embrace it. I would write recaps for 30 straight losses. Extra inning losses. Close losses. Embarrassingly un-close losses. Walk-off losses. I don't care. I want a brighter tomorrow for my Phillies. And if losing is the only way to get it, I say bring it on.

Today's Lineups

God, Kyle Kendrick again? Aren't we done with him yet? Doesn't *someone* out there need a Kyle Kendrick? Can't *anyone* use him? No? FINE, THANKS A LOT.

And now for today's happy clip:

Is that not the best? It is.
