As the season winds down and there are fewer and fewer games left, that means that the number of times we have to see Kyle Kendrick is dwindling. That's a fact, regardless of whether you're happy or sad about it (you should be happy, FYI). Whether he returns to the Phillies or not, we have a whole offseason without him. Though if he is re-signed, prepare for a full scale blog meltdown.
But let's not concern ourselves with the future. Let's focus on the now. Specifically, the now that involves tonight's lineup.
Ooh, Ryne Sandberg is clearly experimenting with his lineup. Well, as close to experimenting as Ryne Sandberg can possibly get. After making his major league debut at first last night when Ryan Howard was lifted for a pinch runner, Maikel Franco is making his first ever major league start at first base. Dom Brown, despite having a great game last night, is sitting in favor of Darin Ruf today.
So, how many runs do you think Kyle Kendrick will allow in the first inning tonight? My money's on two.
