Last night's game was a human rights violation. I cannot believe they're even considering playing another game after that atrocity. BUT HERE WE ARE. GAME 159. AND THE 19TH AND FINAL GAME IN THE 2015 PHILLIES-METS SERIES.
I'm so tired of facing the Mets. I was tired in April, I was tired in August, and I'm tired now. If someone starts shit today, I'm guessing Cameron Rupp, who took the brunt of the punishment last night, will be the first one out of the dugout, eyes wild, arms spinning line nunchuks.
I'm done talking about last night. Instead, I'd like to visit the Kingdom of 8.
This is adorable, and it fascinated me as a kid. I love the stop motion animation! The king looks positively alive, his beard moving as he moves, and the detail they put into this little puppet show set is breathtaking. The pattern on the castle wall, the 8s on the doors of the castle gate. And the last moment, when the 8 sign falls and flattens the spindly little jester guy? I laugh every time. Still! I love you, Sesame Street.
Here's the lineup, so this game is definitely happening for some reason. I think both the Mets and Phillies would rather go their separate ways until 2016, but rules are rules, I guess. Unless Rob Manfred decides to change them.
Discuss the game in the comments below.
