Has the lineup hit rock bottom? Only time will tell.

"Ryne Sandberg is certainly mixing it up." -- Me in yesterday's gamethread.

Famous last words. While Sandberg's mixing can lead to eventual victories like last night's extra innings triumph, it can also lead to steaming turds like this:

Today's Lineups

WASHINGTON NATIONALS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Michael Taylor - CF Ben Revere - LF
Yunel Escobar - 3B Freddy Galvis - SS
Bryce Harper - RF Cody Asche - 3B
Ryan Zimmerman - 1B Ryan Howard - 1B
Clint Robinson - LF Jeff Francoeur - RF
Wilson Ramos - C Odubel Herrera - CF
Ian Desmond - SS Cesar Hernandez - 2B
Dan Uggla - 2B Cameron Rupp - C
Max Scherzer - RHP Sean O'Sullivan - RHP

LOOK UPON IT! LOOK UPON IT AND DESPAIR!

I mean, yikes. Cody Asche returns to the lineup after two days off and is hitting third for some reason. (?!?!) Jeff Francoeur is back, again, and so is Odubel Herrera (last night's game-winner). Cesar Hernandez steps in for a resting Chase Utley and Cameron Rupp gives Chooch another break at backstop. And they all get to play against Max Scherzer.

God help you, Sean O'Sullivan. Or, may God help your fastball.
