Weekend Probables:
LHV: Adam Morgan, Paul Clemens, TBD
REA: Aaron Nola, Jesse Biddle, Zach Eflin
CLR: Miguel Nunez, Colin Kleven, Matt Imhof
LWD: Tyler Viza, Ranfi Casimiro, Chris Oliver
Buffalo 5, Lehigh Valley 1
Severino Gonzalez - 5 IP, 10 H, 5 R, 5 ER, BB, 2 K, 2 HR, WP, 4 GB, 3 FB
Phillippe Aumont - 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, BB, 3 K
Tyler Knigge - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, K
Tyler Henson - 0 for 4, K
Maikel Franco - 2 for 4, 2B, K
Russ Canzler - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB, K
Tommy Joseph - 0 for 4
Brian Bogusevic - 1 for 4 (outfield assist, 3B)
Severino Gonzalez is hit hard in his 2nd outing of the season and the IronPig bats fall silent. Franco with two more hits, including a double. Surprisingly, Aumont hasn't been awful to begin the season. Let's give that one time before we start believing he's turned things around.
Clearwater 3, Jupiter 2 (11 innings)
Brandon Leibrandt - 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 6 K, 6 GB, 0 FB
Mark Leiter - 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K
Ulises Joaquin - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Andrew Pullin - 2 for 5, 2B, 2 K
Domonic Brown - 1 for 3, 2B, RBI, BB, 2 K
Andrew Knapp - 1 for 4, R, 3B, RBI, 2 K
Dylan Cozens - 2 for 5, RBI, 2 K, CS
Willians Astudillo - 2 for 5, K, SB
After a 1-out triple from Knapp, Cozens would drive him home with a single to put the Threshers ahead in the 11th and give them their eventual extra-inning victory. Joaquin with his 3rd save in as many tries. Leibrandt with a solid performance and hopefully one he can build off of. Mark Leiter seems to be settling in as the de-facto multi-inning reliever. With the Franco/Quinn/Tocci hype, Andrew Pullin remains just as hot, batting .417/.481/.542 in 24 at bats.
Hagerstown 7, Lakewood 3
Josh Taylor - 5 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, K, WP, HBP, 3 GB, 1 FB
Jason Zgardowski - 2 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, K, HR
Joey Denato - 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, K, HR
Malquin Canelo - 0 for 3, BB, K
Jiandido Tromp - 1 for 4, K
Carlos Tocci - 1 for 4, SB
Rhys Hoskins - 0 for 4, K (throwing error)
Tim Zier - 0 for 2, R, 2 BB
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 3, R, BB, K
Herlis Rodriguez - 2 for 4, R, 2B, RBI, K, CS
Derek Campbell - 1 for 4, 2B, 2 RBI
Grenny Cumana - 0 for 3, K
Josh Taylor wasn't as sharp as his first outing, but was wasted anyway by the struggling Zgardowski. Big Z has given up 6 ER in 6 IP. Tocci "cools off" with a one hit night and steals his 4th base. Keep an eye on Herlis Rodriguez. With playing time, he could be a potential breakout candidate.
