Today's Probables:

LHV: Severino Gonzalez
REA: Tom Windle
CLR: Brandon Leibrandt
LWD: Ricardo Pinto

Scranton/WB 4, Lehigh Valley 3 (15 innings)

Jason Berken - 5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, HR, 2 GB, 5 FB
Phillippe Aumont - 4 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 2 K, 3 WP, balk
Hector Neris - 3 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 4 K
Adam Loewen - 2.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 5 BB, K
Domonic Brown - 1 for 5, R, RBI, BB
Maikel Franco - 0 for 5, BB, 3 K
Russ Canzler - 2 for 6, R, 3 K
Tommy Joseph - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI, BB, K

Berken gets his first start after two dreadful relief appearances, but doesn't factor into the decision. Aumont with the blown save by allowing the tying run to score in the 7th. Loewen would walk the first two batters in the 15th and then allow the eventual walk-off single after a sac-bunt. Franco with 3 of 13 strikeouts for the IronPigs last night. IronPig pitching committed 11 walks in total. Domonic Brown is batting .200/.306/.333 (30 AB) during his rehab assignement.

Reading 9, Akron 4

Anthony Vasquez - 5 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, BB, 5 K, HR, 4 GB, 3 FB
Elvis Araujo - 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K
Nefi Ogando - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, K
Roman Quinn - 3 for 3, 3 R, 2B, RBI, BB, SB, CS
KC Serna - 3 for 3, R, RBI (throwing error)
Aaron Altherr - 2 for 4, HR, 4 RBI
Brock Stassi - 1 for 4, R
Cam Perkins - 1 for 4, K, CS (outfield assist, home)
Gabriel Lino - 0 for 4, 2 K
Harold Martinez - 2 for 4, R, RBI, K

Anthony Vasquez gets another start and doesn't disappoint. The offense was once again the main attraction, with Roman Quinn getting top billing. He picks up stolen base number 8 and his 3rd double. KC Serna is quietly have a great start to the season, batting .355/.412/.387 in 31 at bats. Aaron Altherr hits his 1st homer of the season and could see a jump to AAA sooner than we think.

Tampa 12, Clearwater 1

David Whitehead - 5 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 5 GB, 3 FB, WP
Mark Leiter - 0.1 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 1 ER, K (fielding error)
Lino Martinez - 1.2 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 3 ER, BB, 2 K, WP
Ulises Joaquin - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 K
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 5, RBI, K
Andrew Knapp - 1 for 4, K (throwing error)
Dylan Cozens - 0 for 4, 2 K
Willians Astudillo - 3 for 4, 2 2B
Aaron Brown - 0 for 3, HBP
Zach Green - 0 for 3, BB, K
Mitch Walding - 0 for 3, R, BB (fielding and throwing errors)

It wasn't a terrible start from Whitehead, who still sports a 2.12 ERA after the outing. Joaquin has been an early season surprise with 5 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 BB and 6 strikeouts. The offense was punchless aside from "Ted" Willians. After a slow start he seems back to his normal self.

Greensboro 8, Lakewood 3

Elniery Garcia - 3.1 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, K, 2 HR, 6 GB, 1 FB (throwing error)
Jason Zgardowski - 2.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
Joey Denato - 2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 K, WP
Malquin Canelo - 2 for 4, R, 2B, K
Jiandido Tromp - 0 for 4, K
Carlos Tocci - 1 for 4, R, RBI
Rhys Hoskins - 2 for 3, R, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, K
Cord Sandberg - 0 for 4
Deivi Grullon - 0 for 4, 3 K
Damek Tomscha - 0 for 4, K
Derek Campbell - 1 for 4
Grenny Cumana - 0 for 3

Bad day for Elneiry Garcia after a dominant start last week. The only damage done by the BlueClaw offense was a 2-run homer (his first) by Hoskins and an RBI single from Tocci. Tocci is the only starter batting over .300. He has hit safely in all but 2 games and reached base in all but 1 of those. The offense overall will continue to struggle until Tromp and Sandberg get in a groove.
