For the first time in 2015, the Phillies will play a National League team outside of their own division. Aside from the opening series against Boston, the Phillies have played the Braves, Mets, Marlins, and Nationals. And frankly, I'm fucking sick of all of them.
And even though the Phillies are starting the meat of their schedule by playing the Cardinals, there is something to look forward to. Our own Ryan Howard, who has been finally, blessedly heating up, has bonkers numbers against the Cardinals. .362/.468/.686 is his triple slash against them regardless of venue. And when he faces the Cards at Busch Stadium? .360/.493/.667. Those are some numbers right there. Those are numbers I like.
Howard is backing up Cole Hamels, who in turn is hoping that someone scores some damn runs for him this time. The withered husk of Grady Sizemore must had disintegrated and blown away, since he hasn't started in ages due to all the sucking. BUT HEY MAYBE RYNE SANDBERG WANTS TO KEEP HIM OVER DOM BROWN.
RYNE SANDBERG IS SO SMART, GUYS. IT'S TIME WE CAUGHT UP WITH HIM.
