Game 32 Open Thread: Mets at Phillies

Every player will try to honor their mothers by taking home a win. Only half will succeed.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommas out there. My mother is an incredibly strong woman who has been through some tough shit in her life, and came out even stronger for it. She has the patience of a saint, which is evident because I am still living -- she could have, and probably should have, throttled me to death when I was a horrible, horrible adolescent. My mother has an appreciation for sporting events, and things that she can develop a rooting interest in. She likes baseball, but even though she doesn't love it as much as I do she always encouraged me to watch and write and talk to her about it, even though it wasn't always her thing.

My mom is the best is what I'm saying here.

Please give all the mothers (and mother-like figures!) in your life their due today.

Basebawwww! It's time for basebawwwwww!

Today's Lineups

NEW YORK METS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Curtis Granderson - RF Ben Revere - CF
Juan Lagares - CF Freddy Galvis - SS
Daniel Murphy - 3B Chase Utley - 2B
Lucas Duda - 1B Ryan Howard - 1B
Wilmer Flores - SS Darin Ruf - LF
Kirk Nieuwenhuis - LF Grady Sizemore - RF
Anthony Recker - C Cody Asche - 3B
Ruben Tejada - 2B Cameron Rupp - C
Bartolo Colon - RHP Chad Billingsley - RHP

Chase Utley's back in the lineup, and so is Cody Asche. Grady Sizemore is pushing Ben Revere from right field to center field, and so Odubel Herrera is taking a breather. Chad Billingsley will try to have a better outing than he did last time. They're all taking on the man/myth/legend that is Bartolo Colon. Colon is a chubby tornado of contradictions, so who knows how this will turn out.
