Game 52 Open Thread: Rockies at Phillies

This is a lot worse than the last time we were going for seven straight.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Remember those days? Cole Hamels was on point. Ryan Howard was hitting home runs. Jonathan Papelbon recorded the most saves in team history. Chase Utley was clawing his way out of the pit. Maikel Franco appeared. Truly, it was the most exciting and entertaining six-game block in recent Phillies history, and even was commemorated in a video.

Smiles, everywhere. Maybe these Phillies weren't going to win the NL East, but perhaps they could be a headache for a few of the more pompous squads at the division's top.

Weeks later, the team faces a similar streak, only this time, it's horrible. The Phillies have lost six in a row, hopped back in a deep and hole, and applied the dirt themselves. Today, as Jerome Williams takes on the Rockies, they have the chance to stop their longest losing streak of the year. Will they do it? Will you tune in to find out? Eh. Why ruin your Sunday.
