Today's Probables:
LHV: Adam Morgan
REA: Zach Eflin
CLR: Yacksel Rios
LWD: Chris Oliver
Lehigh Valley 3, Buffalo 1 (Game 1, resumption of 6/15 suspended game)
Anthony Vasquez - 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K, 4 GB, 1 FB
Chad Billingsley - 3 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, BB, 0 K, 6 GB, 1 FB
Jake Diekman - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 K
Tyler Henson - 1 for 4, R, RBI, SB
Brian Bogusevic - 1 for 3, R, BB, K, 2 SB
Darin Ruf - 1 for 4, 2 RBI
Jordan Danks - 2 for 4, 2B, 2 K, CS
Cord Phelps - 2 for 4, R, 2 2B
Gabriel Lino - 1 for 4, 3 K (passed ball)
Billingsley started the 2nd half of this game for his 1st rehab start after suffering a right shoulder strain a little more than a month ago. After what Jerome Williams put together last night, I'd image Chad will be slotted right in. Brian Bogusevic keeps hitting at ridiculous pace (for him at least) and steals 8th and 9th bases.
Buffalo 3, Lehigh Valley 1 (Game 2, 7 innings)
Severino Gonzalez - 5 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, BB, 3 K, 7 GB, 4 FB
Adam Loewen - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 4 K
Tyler Henson - 1 for 3, RBI
Brian Bogusevic - 1 for 3, 2 K
Darin Ruf - 0 for 3
Gonzalez continues to struggle not matter whether in Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley. Though, the offense doesn't afford him the runs to bail him out this go around. The Iron Pig offense was stifled to only 4 hits and go a woeful 1 for 3 with RISP.
Reading 8, Trenton 2
Jesse Biddle - 7.2 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 1 ER, BB, 4 K, 9 GB, 5 FB, WP
Colton Murray - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
J.P. Crawford - 2 for 5, R, 2B, 2 RBI
Kelly Dugan - 1 for 3, R, 2B, RBI, K, HBP (fielding error)
Aaron Altherr - 2 for 4, 3B, RBI, BB
Brock Stassi - 2 for 5, R, RBI
Cam Perkins - 2 for 5, 2 R, 2B, K
Art Charles - 1 for 4, R, BB, 2 K
KC Serna - 1 for 3, R, RBI, BB
Biddle might be back guys. Despite the low K numbers, he isn't walking as many batters and minimizing damage. These last couple starts have been overwhelmingly positive steps. Not only is J.P. Crawford the most exciting prospect with the Phillies, he is closing in on Top 5 in the minor leagues overall. Kelly Dugan will be in AAA in short time and I'm not entirely sure why he wasn't assigned there to begin with.
St. Lucie 5, Clearwater 2
Matt Imhof - 2.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, K, 3 GB, 1 FB
Miguel Nunez - 3.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 K
Cody Forsythe - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R
Drew Stankiewicz - 2 for 5, RBI, K
Carlos Tocci - 1 for 5, 2B, RBI, 2 K
Andrew Knapp - 0 for 3, BB, 2 K, HBP
Dylan Cozens - 2 for 5, SB
Andrew Pullin - 0 for 3, BB
Willians Astudillo - 0 for 3, HBP
Aaron Brown - 0 for 4
Mitch Walding - 1 for 4, R (fielding error)
Angelo Mora - 1 for 4, R, K (fielding error)
Brutal 2nd start coming back from injury for Imhof after an encouraging 1st start. It has been really hard to assess what the Phillies have in Imhof. He's a low velocity guy who isn't going to strike guys out. He doesn't strike me as a bullpen guy, so he is really going to improve his groundball numbers to succeed. Tocci makes his Clearwater debut with mixed results. He batted 2nd for the Threshers. Cozens has upped his triple slash to .263/.314/.375, which might sound unimpressive if you don't remember what it was a month ago. In his last 25 games he is batting .337/.406/.516 with 13 XBH and 5 stole bases. Cozens seems to finally be breaking out.
Delmarva 9, Lakewood 6 (Game 1 of DH, 7 innings)
Tyler Viza - 3.1 IP, 5 H, 8 R, 6 ER, 5 BB, 2 K, WP, 2 GB, 5 FB
Malquin Canelo - 2 for 4, R, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 K
Chase Harris - 0 for 4
Damek Tomscha - 3 for 3, R, 2B, RBI, HBP
Rhys Hoskins - 1 for 2, R, 2 BB
Deivi Grullon - 0 for 4, K
Cord Sandberg - 4 for 4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI
Jiandido Tromp - 1 for 3, R, RBI, BB
Gustavo Martinez - 1 for 4
Grenny Cumana - 0 for 3 (fielding error)
Tyler Viza pitches his worst start of the season and only his 4th non-quality start in 11 games started. Canelo hit his 21st double, which leads the South Atlantic League. Cord Sandberg blasts his 1st HR of the season and goes perfect at the plate. Grullon is now in a putrid 2 for 38 slump at the plate in his last 10 games.
Delmarva 4, Lakewood 0 (Game 2, 7 innings, makeup of 6/3 ppd)
Austin Davis - 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 K
Joey Denato - 3 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, BB, 2 K
Alexis Rivero - 1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, K
Malquin Canelo - 1 for 3 (throwing error)
Derek Campbell - 1 for 3
Herlis Rodriguez - 0 for 2, BB
Rhys Hoskins - 0 for 3
Damek Tomscha - 0 for 3, K
Cord Sandberg - 0 for 3
Jiandido Tromp - 1 for 3
Joel Fisher - 0 for 2, K (passed ball)
Grenny Cumana - 0 for 2
Lakewood gets 3-hit and go 0 for 8 with RISP. Lakewood used their bullpen start and finish the game. It was a bad game. The end.
