Look we're not going to lie to you here. The folks who sit down to watch this game tonight are the diehards. And I know you're diehards because any normal person would probably keel over from a stroke if they had to watch these two offensively challenged teams, the 19-33 Phillies and 22-27 Reds, duke it out at a rainy Citizens Bank Park tonight.

The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05, but with weather a tad on the iffy side, let's use the 'ol "~" symbol to indicated an "approximate" start time.

Starting Pitchers

This is what you would call the classic mismatch.

The Phils will run Sean O'Sullivan (1-4, 4.81 ERA) up to the hill tonight, opposed by Cincinnati's ace Johnny Cueto (3-4, 3.03 ERA). O'Sullivan put up one of his worst performances of the season his last time out, giving up two home runs to Lucas Duda and a monster shot to opposing pitcher Noah Syndergaard. Cueto, meanwhile, last pitched on May 19 and gave up three runs in seven innings in a 3-0 loss to the Royals. Cueto has been bothered by an elbow issue, and has never done well against the Phillies, going 1-4 with a 5.52 ERA. However, most of that was against, you know, GOOD Phillies hitters.

And, just so you have some idea of the futility we're talking about on offense here...

So yeah, this ain't gonna be pretty. But, come join us, let's all wallow in this together!
