Game 76 Open Thread: Nationals at Phillies

Maybe runs today? More of them? And perhaps winning? Possibly?

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Let's be honest: it was a miracle that a single Phillies player scored any runs last night. And that Ben Revere hit a home run may be an actual legal miracle. I'm looking into it. I hope Pete Mackanin doesn't come to expect this from Ben Revere. But then again, Mackanin isn't an idiot. I think. Right? I'm not sure of anything anymore.

Let's get to the lineups, and hope Max Scherzer's secret clone Flax Flerzer isn't on the mound today.

Today's Lineups

WASHINGTON NATIONALS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Michael Taylor - CF Ben Revere - CF
Danny Espinosa - 3B Cesar Hernandez - 2B
Ian Desmond - SS Maikel Franco - 1B
Clint Robinson - RF Jeff Francoeur - RF
Dan Uggla - 2B Darin Ruf - LF
Tyler Moore - 1B Andres Blanco - 3B
Jose Lobaton - C Carlos Ruiz - C
Matt den Dekker - LF Freddy Galvis - SS
Gio Gonzalez - LHP Adam Morgan - LHP

Seeing Dan Uggla's name in a lineup is comforting. In the way getting the flu every winter is comforting. What I'm saying is that I want him to go away.

Adam Morgan faces off against the somewhat diminished Gio Gonzalez. Morgan will get his second start today, and will try to build on his success last week. Hopefully he and the rest of the Phils can get Mackanin his first win today.
