Win number 30: Phillies 6, Marlins 3

30! 30 30 30 30! 30 wins and Aaron Nola! Today was a glorious day!

30 wins guys! 30 wins! They finally broke the 30 barrier!

The Phillies may be the worst team in baseball by a wide margin, but that doesn't mean they can't win a ball game in a occasionally. Rarely. This one got away from the Marlins a little bit. Which was fortunate for the Phillies, who took full advantage and beat the Marlins 6-3.

This is what the Phillies did to the Marlins tonight.

I mean, that's an image that you won't be able to forget anytime soon. That Galapagos Gang needs to *tone it down*. I cannot believe the design for the tongue didn't set off alarm bells for anyone at the mascot design company or whatever. "Hey, does this look like a penis?" is a question that needs to be asked in many more situations than you'd think, because if the answer is "yes", it's time to go back to the drawing board.

But I digress.

In other news, I've fallen in love with the aggressively mediocre Jeff Francoeur. Guy just loves life. He'd smile if he struck out, he'd smile if he homered. Fortunately, he homered. In what was the first pinch hit home run of his career, Frenchy did this thing that put the Phillies up 4 runs and secured the game for them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: that goofy goober has grown on me. His post game interview was damn delightful.

This game zipped along through eight innings, during which the Marlins and the Phillies had each scored two runs but were locked in a tie. The bottom of the eighth inning is where the the Phillies broke through and scored one, then another three runs. They gave one back in the ninth when Papelbon unsuccessfully tried to create his own save situation, but Pap and his anus mouth were able to close it out, and the Phillies go their 30th win.

30 wins. It feels like it took so long to get here. Probably because it did.

(Thanks to my boyfriend @dj_mosfett for that incredible gif and image. It's my favorite, favorite thing.)
