Aaron Nola Day Open Thread: Rays at Phillies

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Don't ask me why, but I've been singing "THE HILLS ARE ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF NOLA" all day today. Because I'm a sick woman who needs professional help. Seriously though, this is the most exciting thing that's happened all year and I can't help but be EXTREMELY EXCITED.

The future is here. It's just a small glimmer, just a pinprick of light at the end of a tunnel, but the future is here and we get to watch it unfold. What does the future hold? No one knows. But it probably won't be solely determined by tonight's start, unless a giant time traveling pterodactyl flies down and snatches him in the middle of the game. My excitement is high, but my expectations are realistic.

Tonight is just a beginning. The start of the story, or at least of a new chapter. AND IT IS REALLY EXCITING!

Today's Lineups

John Jaso - LF Odubel Herrera - CF
Steven Souza - RF Freddy Galvis - SS
Evan Longoria - 3B Cesar Hernandez - 2B

LOOK THERE'S AARON NOLA'S NAME! He's really going to pitch tonight! Like a major league baseball player! Because that's what major league baseball players do! GUYS IT'S REALLY HAPPENING.

Aaron Nola. What a beautiful name. It just rolls off the tongue, and it's really fun to say. Aaron Nola. AaronnnNolaaaaaa. Try it a few hundred times. You won't regret it.

Excitedly discuss Aaron Nola and the rest of the game in the comments below.
