Come hang out with The Good Phight writers and readers as the Phillies take on the Braves and Pat the Bat is inducted into the Phillies Wall of Fame.

The Phillies are a bad team, but that doesn't mean we can't have fun.

For as long as I've been writing for this fine weblog (not long), we have never once organized an event to put faces to (fake) names. Well, it just so happens that next Friday, the 31st of July, we will be doing just that, i.e., organizing an event with an open invitation to all members of The Good Phight community. Not coincidentally, July 31st is also the night Pat "The Bat" Burrell will be inducted into the Phillies Wall of Fame, where his bronze-plated likeness will hang beside those of assuredly less badass individuals.

Pat the Bat is something of a legend here at The Good Phight and he has actually once served as a part-time clubhouse correspondent for the site. It is only fitting that we show up en masse to honor his Phillies career and receive a commemorative print of our hero.

We will be showing our support for Burrell from Section 116. There are currently many tickets available in that section through StubHub and Feel free to sit anywhere and swing by during the game. I'll be hanging out at the food rail behind the section before the game. I'll be the tall (6'3"), bearded white dude eating awkwardly waiting for you to come talk to me.

Who else will be attending? Well, that isn't entirely set in stone yet, but confirmed attendees include myself, Wet Luzinski, and Jay Polinsky. If you're Polish, you'll fit right in. Oh! I almost forgot to mention someone important: You. You will be attending, and, in my humble opinion, that is pretty rad. As an added incentive, if Pat shows up with bleached hair, I will buy a drink for every The Good Phight-related attendee.

During the game, I will be seated in the second-to-last row of Section 116 next to the 116/117 aisle. My understanding is that Jay and Wet will be sitting near there as well. Grab a seat near us and celebrate Pat The Bat as well as the certain destruction of our rival Atlanta Braves. We look forward to seeing you there!
