The Iron Pigs nearly crawled back after Nefi Ogando's implosion in the 8th inning. LHV delivered 4 straight hits in the 9th to score 3 runs before recording three straight outs to end the comeback attempt. Aaron Altherr with another huge game, hitting his 5th HR and 6th double with Lehigh Valley.

Colin Kleven has not been good for Reading since joining them 5 starts ago. Hitters are blasting him at a .323 clip and he is holding down a 8.65 ERA. The offense stuttered a bit, going 1 for 9 with RISP and leaving 7 on base. Brock Stassi did manage to produce the lone multi-hit game, swatting his 9th HR of the season.

Brandon Leibrandt is making great progress in coming back from his injury as he was able to get to 7 innings for the first time since mid-May. The only real damage was two solo shots. The offense provided little support outside of Dylan Cozens who seems to be fully healthy once again and producing.

Austin Davids didn't pitch well and the offense has 4 batters at the bottom of the lineup hitting below .200. There weren't too many other expected outcomes. Scott Kingery has been on a nice little hot streak, hitting .347/.418/.551 in his last 13 games (49 at bats).
