Game 128 Open Thread: Mets at Phillies

HOW ARE WE STILL PLAYING THE METS

Brian Garfinkel/Getty Images

How is this a thing that's still happening? Haven't the Phillies been playing the Mets for 9 or 15 or 59 games now? And when I say "playing," what I really mean is that the Phillies have been getting obliterated by the Mets for what seems eons. Haven't the Phillies always been playing the Mets?

This is how the world ends. The Phillies, the Mets, and the craziest, most deranged group of Philadelphia and New York fans, all heading toward the sun and toward eternal glory, as they burn and dissolve into pure light and illuminate the stars forever. Is tonight just one game on the long road to forever, or is it one game that lasts for all time?

It's just one game. And here's just one more lineup.

Today's Lineups

NEW YORK METS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Curtis Granderson - RF Cesar Hernandez - 2B
Yoenis Cespedes - CF Andres Blanco - 3B
Daniel Murphy - 1B Odubel Herrera - CF
David Wright - 3B Jeff Francoeur - RF
Kelly Johnson - 2B Aaron Altherr - LF
Travis d'Arnaud - C Darin Ruf - 1B
Michael Conforto - LF Carlos Ruiz - C
Ruben Tejada - SS Freddy Galvis - SS
Jon Niese - LHP Aaron Harang - RHP

Please win. Or don't. I don't know. Is this even baseball anymore?
