Lehigh Valley 5, Toledo 1
Jerad Eickhoff - 6 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 7 K, WP, 6 GB, 6 FB
Seth Rosin - 0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Cesar Jimenez - 0.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 K
Dustin McGowan - 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
Tyler Henson - 0 for 4, BB, SB
Chase d'Arnaud - 1 for 5, R, K (fielding error)
Brian Bogusevic - 3 for 5, 2 R, 3B, HR
Aaron Altherr - 1 for 4, 2 R, HR, BB, K
Kelly Dugan - 1 for 5, RBI
Jerad Eickhoff showed off his polish in his organizational debut. He threw 64 of his 97 pitches for strikes. His 6 innings were his most since a June 30th start for Round Rock Express. He got run support from Bogusevic and Altherr, hitting their 7th HRs with LHV. Bless his heart, Bogusevic just continues to hit, with a .290 average, 7 HR and 20 stolen bases. Altherr's total season numbers (AA and AAA) combined stand at .295/.368/.487 with 13 HR, 16 SB and a 80:43 K/BB in 368 at bats.
Reading 7, Trenton 1
Jake Thompson - 7 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, K, 11 GB, 2 FB
Jimmy Cordero - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
Edubray Ramos - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, K
Nick Williams - 2 for 5, K (outfield assist, 2B)
J.P. Crawford - 1 for 5, R
Chase Utley - 1 for 4, 2 R, K

Cam Perkins - 2 for 5, RBI, 2 K
Art Charles - 0 for 4, 3 K
Harold Martinez - 1 for 4, K (fielding error)
Not to be completely overshadowed, newly acquired top pitching prospect Jake Thompson was in control for his Phillies org debut. He was curiously taken out of the game after 75 pitches, but with a 7-1 lead at the time. I can't imagine he is on any kind of innings limit this season. He's still 35 away from his career high from last season. Nick Williams led off the game with a single and added another in the 7th. These are very exciting times for the Phillies minor leagues in quite some time. Andrew Knapp keeps hitting at a ridiculously unsustainable pace. He is slashing .372/.411/.593 in 113 at bats with a 22:8 K/BB; all the while finding his power stroke in Reading. Also some 2B prospect named Chase Utley swung the bat a little. Jimmy Cordero touched 100 a couple times last night, according to the twitters.
Lakeland 8, Clearwater 0
Brandon Leibrandt - 4.1 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, WP, 4 GB, 4 FB
Harold Guerrero - 1.2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, WP
Alexis Rivero - 2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 4 K, HR
Ulises Joaquin - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 K
Carlos Tocci - 0 for 4, K
Malquin Canelo - 1 for 4, 2B, K
Andrew Pullin - 0 for 4
Rhys Hoskins - 0 for 3, K
Dylan Cozens - 0 for 2, 2 K, HBP, SB
Chace Numata - 0 for 3, 2 K (passed ball)
Aaron Brown - 0 for 3, 2 K
Jesmuel Valentin - 0 for 3, K
Brandon Leibrandt didn't quite have the same luck as he has had recently. Since returning from rehab assignment, he has held batters to 11 runs on 27 hits in 32.1 innings (.224 BABIP). Previous to his DL stint, he had nearly identical numbers (WHIP, ERA, BABIP, etc), except for his K/BB which has taken a huge hit. Flying Tigers pitchers shutdown the Threshers offense, holding them to 2 hits. This is the 2nd game in their last 3 that they have been shutout.
Lakewood 2, Greensboro 1
Ranfi Casimiro - 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 K, HR, HBP, 8 GB, 4 FB
Manny Martinez - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, K
Scott Harris - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
Matt Hockenberry - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, K
Cord Sandberg - 0 for 4, 2 K
Herlis Rodriguez - 1 for 4, R, 2 K (outfield assist, 2B)
Scott Kingery - 2 for 4, SB
Kyle Martin - 0 for 4, K
Damek Tomscha - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI
Jiandido Tromp - 1 for 4, R, 2B, 3 K
Joel Fisher - 0 for 3, K
Emmanuel Marrero - 0 for 3
Ranfi Casimiro continues to quietly have a really nice season and this was one of his best yet. Matt Hockenberry ran into trouble in the bottom of the 9th, but still managed to close out the game for his 12th save. Herlis Rodriguez has been talked about this season for his work at the plate, but unknowingly to even me, added his 16th outfield assist. Those are some 2014-Peter Lavin-eqsue numbers. 15 of those 16 assists have come from RF. Scott Kingery stole his 3rd base in the game.
Mahoning Valley 10, Williamsport 5
Franklyn Kilome - 3 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, K, HBP, 5 GB, 4 FB
Luis Morales - 2.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 K, HR
Denton Keys - 1.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 2 K
Sutter McLoughlin - 1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, 2 K, HR
Mark Laird - 1 for 3, 2 R, 2 BB
Andrew Amaro - 2 for 5, 2 RBI, K
Josh Tobias - 1 for 4, 2 RBI
Jose Pujols - 0 for 4, 2 K
Jesus Posso - 1 for 4, 2B, 2 K
Jan Hernandez - 0 for 4, K (fielding error)
Carlos Duran - 0 for 3, R, BB, K
Austin Bossart - 1 for 2, R, 2 HBP (passed ball)
Dylan Bosheers - 0 for 2, R, 2 BB (fielding error)
Some days just aren't your day. It wasn't for Kilome (or clearly the entire pitching staff). He might not be 100% healthy, but there is no way to know for sure. He'll hopefully be back out there next week. While Jose Pujols is making adjustments at the plate, he is still struggling lately. In his last 20 games he is batting .200/.238/.263 (.276 BABIP).
