Game 146 Open Thread: Nationals at Phillies

I love it when the Nationals are bad.

It's rare to watch a series in which your favorite team can't really lose. If the Phillies win against the Nationals tonight or tomorrow night, it means the Nats LOST to the Phillies and continued to suck. If the Phils lose, they inch closer to the top of baseball garbage pile mountain, where the first draft pick is waiting. Last night was special, because not only did the Phillies get closer to that draft pick, but they embarrassed Jonathan Papelbon in the process! I love baseball!

And now it's time for today's Sesame Street clip.

Can they even show this anymore? I mean, it does teach kids what a telephone booth is, using an ear-wormy, Beatles-esque song structure, but why teach kids about something that doesn't exist anymore? Damn you, technology! Damn you for making this amazing Sesame Street segment totally obsolete!

I guess I have to show you the lineup. But be forewarned: it's not pretty.

Today's Lineups

WASHINGTON NATIONALS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Anthony Rendon - 2B Darnell Sweeney - LF
Yunel Escobar - 3B Freddy Galvis - SS
Bryce Harper - RF Odubel Herrera - CF
Jayson Werth - LF Andres Blanco - 2B
Clint Robinson - 1B Cody Asche - 3B
Ian Desmond - SS Darin Ruf - 1B
Wilson Ramos - C Brian Bogusevic - RF
Michael Taylor - CF Carlos Ruiz - C
Stephen Strasburg - RHP David Buchanan - RHP

I WARNED YOU!!

I mean... woof. Ryan Howard is out with a knee problem and Aaron Altherr got hit on the elbow with a pitch last night, so he's out too. This lineup is bad. It's very bad. So, uh, go Phillies!
