So, who will want to win less tonight? Will it be the Phillies, who are young and hopeful and full of promise, but not very good? Or will it be the Braves, who are almost purposefully bad right now, who seem to be losing by design? It's a toss up. Or a LOSS UP AM I RIGHT HA HA HA HA OH GOD IS THE SEASON OVER YET I AM SO READY.
I know that's not a popular thing to say. I love the Phillies and I love baseball. But this season, man, it's been... It's been a season. Losing and injuries and then more losing and more injuries. I'm ready to watch a month of consequential baseball that doesn't feature the Phillies at all. I need a break. I think we all do.
But if you need a quick break right now, how about today' Sesame Street clip?
Grover. Grover is the best. Part of it is his voice. Part of it is his blue furriness. Part of it is his round, huggable head. And another part still are his long, flappy arms. It doesn't matter what it is, really. He's entirely lovable. I couldn't stop singing "wubba wubba wubba woo woo woo", when I was a kid AND earlier today when my friends threatened to leave me by the side of the road in Nowheresville, Connecticut. This song is so much fun that I didn't even care.
Lineup time!
I'm going to try and find something to be excited about in every lineup until the end of the season. And today's thing that I'm excited about is Jerad Eickhoff. He's young, he's cute, and he hasn't totally sucked. I can get behind that as a positive things in tonight's game. I'm scraping bottom here, guys. 14 games left.
