Today's Probables:
LHV: Severino Gonzalez
REA: Joely Rodriguez
LWD: Shane Watson
WIL: Franklyn Kilome
Pawtucket 10, Lehigh Valley 2
Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez - 3 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, BB, 2 K, HR, HBP, 1 GB, 4 FB
Joey Denato - 2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 3 K
Brian Bogusevic - 0 for 4, K
Tommy Joseph - 0 for 4
Kelly Dugan - 1 for 2, HBP
Gabriel Lino - 0 for 3, 3 K
MAG's triumphant return to LHV was spectacularly bad. He was however outdone by Jason Berken who let up 4 runs in his only inning of work. The offense was also a dud, collecting 4 hits of which two were solo home runs (Russ Canzler and Tyler Pastronicky).
Binghampton 7, Reading 6
Ben Lively - 5.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 4 K, 3 GB, 6 FB
Reinier Roibal - 0.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, K
Edubray Ramos - 2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 K
Stephen Shackleford - 1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, WP
KC Serna - 2 for 5, R, RBI, K, CS
J.P. Crawford - 2 for 5, 2 R
Andrew Knapp - 2 for 5, HR, 3 RBI, K
Destin Hood - 2 for 4, 2 2B, RBI, K
Dylan Cozens - 1 for 3, HR, BB
Angelo Mora - 2 for 4, R, 2B, K
Brian Pointer - 1 for 4, 2B, K
Good news and bad news. Good news is, in his last 3 starts (14.1 IP) now, Lively has a 15:3 K/BB. Bad news is he has given up 18 hits and 13 earned runs. Lively's ERA sits at a season high 4.31. Shackleford however wound up getting the loss on the evening, giving up 2 runs in a 5-5 game in the top of the 9th. Knapp was able to muster up a groundout RBI in the bottom of the 9th to cut the lead to 1, however Art Charles would end the game striking out right after. Knapp also hit his 11th AA homer in the game and Cozens added his 3rd. That is back-to-back games with dingers for Dylan Cozens.
Clearwater 3, Daytona 2 (GM1 of doubleheader, 8 innings)
Daytona 3, Clearwater 0 (GM2 of doubleheader, makeup of 8/31 ppd, 7 innings)
Victor Arano - 5 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, HR, 5 GB, 4 FB
Alberto Tirado - 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, K
Jesen Therrien - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
Matt Imhoff - 3 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 2 R, BB, 4 K, HR, WP, 2 GB, 3 FB
Yacksel Rios - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 3 K
Miguel Nunez - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Jesmuel Valentin - 2 for 5, R, 2B, BB
Carlos Tocci - 2 for 6, 2B, K
Rhys Hoskins - 1 for 6, HR, BB, 2 K
Andrew Pullin - 1 for 5, 2 K
Willians Astudillo - 0 for 6
Aaron Brown - 1 for 6, 2 K
Chace Numata - 0 for 4, BB
Malquin Canelo - 2 for 6, HR, K
Victor Arano's lone mistake came from a 2-run HR in the bottom of the 5th inning. He had been cruising previous to that. Rhys Hoskins and Malquin Canelo had solo shots in the first game, their 8th and 2nd HR's in Clearwater. Matt Imhof also saw a short outing, though I can't see his pitch count to see why that would be considering Clearwater has an off-day today.
Lakewood 9, Greensboro 0
Jairo Munoz - 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 5 K, 9 GB, 2 FB
Zach Morris - 3 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K, HBP
Herlis Rodriguez - 1 for 4, R, RBI, K, SB
Drew Stankiewicz - 3 for 5, R, BB
Scott Kingery - 1 for 4, BB, K
Deivi Grullon - 0 for 4, R, 2 BB, 2 K
Damek Tomscha - 2 for 6, R, 2B, 2 RBI
Kyle Martin - 2 for 5, 2 R, 2B
Cord Sandberg - 3 for 5, 2 R, 2B, HR, 4 RBI
Jiandido Tromp - 2 for 5, R, 3B
I thought we had Elneiry Garcia going last night, but because of innings limits his turn is skipped and we got to see Jairo Munoz's second start stateside. He is already 24, but so far in Lakewood he has struck out 24 batters and only walked 9 in 28.2 innings. Cord Sandberg had himself a game, including a 2-run homer (his 4th) in the 3rd inning. Deivi Grullon saw his 4-game hitting streak come to an end. Herlis Rodriguez stole his 18th base and Jiandido Tromp hit his 5th triple.
Auburn 8, Williamsport 4
Jose Tavares - 4 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, BB, K, HR, 3 HBP, 4 GB, 2 FB
Andrew Godail - 2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 K
Anthony Sequeira - 2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 0 ER, BB (throwing error)
Ismael Cabrera - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, K
Carlos Duran - 1 for 3, 2 BB, CS, picked off
Venn Biter - 0 for 5, 2 K
Jose Pujols - 0 for 4, 2 K
Jesus Posso - 2 for 4, R, 2B
Brendon Hayden - 2 for 4, R, 2B
Jan Hernandez - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB, K
Greg Brodzinski - 1 for 3, RBI, K
Dylan Bosheers - 1 for 2, R, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 BB, K
Luis Espiritu - 1 for 4, K
After back-to-back solid starts, Jose Tavares threw up a dud. The offense did him no favors, going 1 for 12 with RISP and leaving 7 on base. Posso, Hayden and Hernandez all ripped their doubles of the opposing starter Joan Baez. Also, Mariano Rivera's son closed out the game.
