TGP Radio Episode 14: Pete Mackanin is "interim" no more

New, comment

In this week's episode of TGP Radio, John Stolnis talks to Phils beat writer Meghan Montemurro of The News Journal and Delaware Online and The Good Phight's Justin Klugh about the Phillies deciding to keep Pete Mackanin as the team's manager in 2016.

In a bit of surprising timing, the Phillies announced Tuesday that Pete Mackanin would be back as the manager of the team in 2016, with a team option for 2017.

On the podcast this week, I spoke with Meghan Montemurro of The News Journal about Mackanin, the Phils' search for a general manager, and some other eye-opening comments made by team president Andy MacPhail on Tuesday. And I spoke with our very own Justin Klugh, who begged to be let on the show again and I said yes and so we talked for a while and you're just going to have to listen to it.

I also talked about the innings limit controversy surrounding the Mets and Matt Harvey, and how the Phils are doing things a little differently with their young starter, Aaron Nola.

Plus, our stat of the week, which was a real eye-opener.
