In a bit of surprising timing, the Phillies announced Tuesday that Pete Mackanin would be back as the manager of the team in 2016, with a team option for 2017.
On the podcast this week, I spoke with Meghan Montemurro of The News Journal about Mackanin, the Phils' search for a general manager, and some other eye-opening comments made by team president Andy MacPhail on Tuesday. And I spoke with our very own Justin Klugh, who begged to be let on the show again and I said yes and so we talked for a while and you're just going to have to listen to it.
I also talked about the innings limit controversy surrounding the Mets and Matt Harvey, and how the Phils are doing things a little differently with their young starter, Aaron Nola.
Plus, our stat of the week, which was a real eye-opener.
